Hey there everyone! First off let me say how happy I am to find such a great forum.. I haven't had a car I truly loved since college when I owned a 97 Trans Am (this was in 2006-2009).
My wife and I purchases a 2022 GT Line about a month ago and just passed 3000 miles on it and have loved every one of them. To be 100% honest getting the Stinger was not my first thought. It was time to turn in our leased 2018 GMC terrain which was a great little SUV. At the time our son was 2 and we needed easy access and lots of room for the car seat. I knew that Kia had really started making impressive vehicles and I called the local dealer about 5 miles from my home to ask about a K5. The wife was at work still so I jumped on the motorcycle just to take a look at it. When I arrived there was this beautiful red K5 GT Line sitting on the deck of the showroom. I took it for a drive and it was ok.. lots of tech lots I'd comfort but it wasn't special (which I had gotten used to in the last decade) I pulled back into the parking lot after my solo test drive and and thought to myself this will be a nice upgrade for the family. Sent off a quick text to the better half to meet me at the dealer when she got off work and she was happy to indulge me with a test drive of her own. Once she pulled into the dealership and parked right out front she walked past the red K5 that was running for her so the interior would be cool enough to enjoy in the middle of Phoenix, and walked directly to the Ceramic Silver Stinger GT Line that still had the plastic on it from being delivered. She took one look at it and knew in that moment she wasnt going to giver her keys up for anyting other than that car. I turned her around and coaxed her into the K5 which she reluctantly drove around the shortest block she could find. she said it was "OK" when we got out of the car and she started to walk back to the Stinger which was now running at this point. The salesman I had been speaking to walked right past me with a bit of a grin extending his hand to present her the key to the gray hatchback. Without any hesitation she got into the driverseat and yelled a quick "lets go" I knew my responsible thoughts of the K5 were drifting away quicker than she buckeled her seat belt. The dealer had told her to run it around for half an hour to get the feel of it.. and oh she did. After taking the car from 8 miles to 22 I had transferred the difference in the price of the two cars before we got out of the car.
Thats the story of how I ended up with what is now my favorite part of the day. taking my kid to school (Since I work from home)
