Why opening the tailgate from inside is missing on some models?

I don't think it would work well without a powered liftgate.

Our hatch is huge and has a large, heavy peice of glass in it. A trunk on a car is small and lightweight.
I disagree, in this day and age you could engineer a release hatch that would work despite the weight of the hatch with the glass. No one is asking that it rises up, but simply releases easily accomplished with a spring or small hydraulic pistion

I had the Gt first and it was no big deal to me. You have to go back and lift the hatch manually anyway. What's the difference if you have to push the button on the hatch first or push it from somewhere else? Maybe it's just me, but I'm really at a loss here.
