I'm leaning the other way - AWD isn't something you can add on later. The Infiniti Q50 (even the Red Sport) is the same as the Stinger AWD - no rear LSD (Limited Slip Differential) (even though the G37 had it!), just the e-LSD (Limited Slip Differential) - for both RWD and AWD. Now, 3-4 years later, there are two different aftermarket options (both just came out recently) for adding a real LSD (Limited Slip Differential) to RWD or AWD. I figure eventually, someone might do the same for the Stinger, especially since it's already available in some trims. Until such time, for most of *MY* uses, AWD > RWD + LSD (Limited Slip Differential). YMMV.
I meant to respond to this one a while ago. This is a great point. If I can add an aftermarket LSD later, and the cost is not astronomical (< $1000), it is probably better to go with AWD. I always thought AWD in northern VA was kind of a waste of money, but I started skiing last year, and now think it's imperative. Heading out to ski resorts always takes you through windy roads exactly when the weather is the worst!
