Why extra remote start FOB when regular key starts it?

Why did I receive an extra key fob for remote start when the included fob starts the vehicle?

The remote start comes with it's own fob even though they programmed your original fob. The extra remote fob also has a longer distance to it.

Got it. So it is basically an add-on somewhere between the manufacturer and me, and when it was added it included the extra fob.

Also, thanks for the data point on extra distance for the dedicated fob.

If you ever add a third smart key fob, you will need that remote start key fob to program the smart key.
