I have a 2022 GT-Line. Does anyone know the type of leather used? PVC, cowhide, etc???

Nobody has asked that question before around here I think. "Rich leather trim as standard", that's what the promo book says. "Nappa" is the only distinction for the GT2, top trim. I know that whatever leather it is, it wears well. Kia tested it by inserting and removing a 165 lb. mannequin 20,000 times to reflect getting in and out of the car four times a day for 13+ years. The leather isn't some cheap grade, in other words.

I read somewhere on the forum they use different leather for different parts of the seat, ie the stuff on the bolsters is synthetic and wears faster than the genuine leather on the back and bottom cushions.

That is my understanding as well. The seat bottom and back are the "leather trim". Also the steering wheel. Nothing else, so far as I have read.

It could be Kangaroo leather. My seat certainly has a lot of "bounce" in it. In fact when I "hopped" in the other day I said to myself, this could be Kangaroo.

When I look up the meaning of "Nappa" leather however there is no mention of Kangaroo. They talk about lamb.

The description however from the official Stinger GT 2023 brochure states

"Rich NAPPA leather appointed (L), seats offer a firm yet comfortable seating position in red or black"

(L) - Leather appointed seats may comprise of genuine leather, polyurethane and other man-made materials or a combination thereof.

That would explain the durability and natural elasticity of the leather.
On my last trip to Oz a year ago, I found these Kangaroo coin pouches at SYD airport. Had to get them for my kids.

The pissed-off roos that gave up these might disagree, but it sure felt like great car seat material.
