And how are they holding up, for those who have had them for a while?

I bought my 2018 Stinger 2.0 Premium back in January and it came with Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS all-season tires. I didn't like them at all - sounded loud, felt hard and didn't handle well. I quickly changed them out for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires and have been very happy with them.

It would be nice if dealers gave us some ability to choose our tires when we take delivery of a new car. However, I haven't heard of that being an option.

Hopefully KIA has shifted to a better tire for the 2019 Stinger 2.0 Premium. If not, you will face a choice about whether to live with the crappy Bridgestones or replace them with better tires.

Well, one benefit of these tires is that they loose traction fairly easily which makes for more opportunities for hooning.

The crappy Potenzas will hydroplane very easily, so they are off my Premium now for the winter here in western NC......basically until March, but I may keep them off in favor of the Nokian WRG4’s. These are great tires and cheaper than the Bridgestones.

Hmmm ... that's not encouraging.

Hey Mike, you probably read some of the threads where I spoke about those tires, they are the "improved" versions of the RE97, the RE97AS-02 but still like the originals, crappy. If you plan on getting a Stinger Premium, the tires is the first thing you should replace.

Oh, that's nice. No, I hadn't read your posts, so I'll look that up. So, buy a new car and immediately toss the tires and get new ones? Lovely. Why could they not have used the Michelin MXM4's like they did on my Optima?

I know you like to have fun in your Optima and even the MXMs aren’t the best tires if you are really, seriously, pushing the car everyday, you would choose better tires than those provide as OEM. Typically on the sporty versions, you will get tires suited for performance, something that can manage the power, for the rest, it’s a blend of comfort and economy. Now, some tires may start off noisy and get quieter over time, the fact that they are still selling them means they are good for some folks out there. For the way I and most enthusiasts drive, those tires aren’t going to cut it.

You can of course ask the dealer to swap your tires over if you like them, I would go for something else though.

I plan on using the bridgestones for the winter and then use a set of gt wheels (staggered) for the summer. But I'm a cheap sob, so I'll run the stockers down to a nub first.

Some folks that kept the Bridgestones should do reviews on it and with regard to their driving style and their take on it. Do a thread in the tire section.

I heard ,2nd hand, that the bridgestones are a better tire than the pilots........I cornered HARD with th bridgestones I'm convinced they are at the very least decent in cornering an traction...........they are round and hold air what else can you ask for?!

In many parts of the south a tire is round and black. Tread is optional. The Potenzas are fine on dry road cornering, but beyond that they are garbage.

LOL, the Bridgestone Potenza RE97 AS02 are better than the Summer Pilot Sport 4 in the freezing winter but in warmer weather, it can't touch it.
