Just found today that on lower left/right corner of passenger door 3 transparent films are applied.
What are these films for? Protection? They are going to collect dust on the edges :(

To protect the paint

Why in this particular place? I've never sow anything like that on other cars. As you can see they are visible already because of a little dust :(
Anyone have these or removed already?

I think that area gets a lot of road debris kicked up because it's flared out and the front brake vents direct sand and crude

Look at the functional brake vents behind the front wheels. The rocks and other debris kicked out of that vent could hit the car right where the body panel curves out -- thus the protective film. I wouldn't remove it, since it's hard to see from more than a few feet away, but if you do, be sure to search on this forum for a fix that a lot of folks have done where they put a metal screen over the vent so you still get the air flow but not as much debris.

dont remove them , Porsche have them as well as BMW etc

I seem to recall at least one person who removed them, then ended up buying new ones from the dealer to reapply - once they realized they are meant to be on there ... :(

A very large number of modern vehicles have PPF from the factory installed in the area around there, you likely just don't notice since you usually only see it when you're up close. You can either have that or chipped paint, your choice.

I will keep them. Hope they will not catch all dirt and look awful

Thank you guys

That was me, but I "only" removed the right side, and then realized they weren't some forgotten packaging plastic. I did not know about PPF back then. :P The replacement pieces cost in the region of fifty bucks per side.

I was worried about the same thing. But the edges have stayed clean, as long as you wash your car often.
