I found this under my seat I have no idea what it is. Any ideas? Something for shipping the car?

On another note, was able to stack 4, 80"x32" ( 200 X 80cm) interior doors in the hatch with the passenger seat all the way foreward.

Thats your tow hook, it should be under the trunk floor with you emergency jack etc.

You have to pop off the little door on your bumper and screw that in if you ever need to be towed.

NS_Stinger, You are correct I already have one in the trunk area, but, it's a little different. I wonder if they made a change at sometime I'd imagine the welded one cost more to manufacture than the cast one.20180922_215415.webp

Maybe I'll paint one yellow and leave it screwed into the front bumper like Civics I see:laugh:

Haha so that if you rear end someone you can leave a nice little hole in their bumper?!? That stuff annoys me!

Not sure why it was under your front seat. Would make me wonder if the dealer towed the car at some point?

There should be two of them in your spare tire compartment. One is for the front and the other for the rear. At least I have two of them anyway.

Yes one of those is the front tow hook and the other the rear. You'll have to check the manual to confirm which is which. Not sure why they're different but I'm sure there's an explanation for it.

I'm not sure of the ''tow'' hook scenario....more like a tie down for flatbed use......I wouldn't use it for anything else.

I don't really think it's up for debate...

Oh I agree, totally just saying I would use it for the flat bed instead of the A frame independant suspension they always use.

My car came with two two hooks as well - but it's not like they'll be seeing much use.

The manual states that to avoid powertrain damage, NEVER tow the car if it's AWD, and for RWD to limit it to a very low speed (15km/hr, 10mph) for a short distance (1.5km/1 mile). For the RWD cars, this is a 'get the car off the busy highway' kind of scenario - then call for a flatdeck or dolly tow. Don't let a hungry tow truck driver with the wrong equipment tell you otherwise, as it could be a very expensive mistake.

By "tow", they mean pulling the vehicle onto a flatbed or potentially out of a ditch, not dragging it down the highway for miles!

Is there a place to put the 2nd tow hook? It doesn’t seem to have a spot in the foam inside the spare tire.
