What is the ideal speed for best mpg?

Doesn't Sport mode keep the car out of 8th gear? That has been reported by someone.
I haven't heard that. But it is certainly possible. But what I said still stands. Same gear, same rpm, same mpg

I had heard that but it's not the case. That is exactly what I wanted to find out. So, once I got to 75 cruising speed, I went between sport comfort and eco with no rpm impact. The biggest difference, as was pointed out, was in how quickly it shifted into lower gear when I needed power. In sport mode it was near instant. I really liked that.

Thanks for that clarification @bugaboo90. It didn't make sense but I did see someone else report that. If there is no gear change, the Sport would be virtually identical to other modes EXCEPT when driving in traffic where Eco might keep the car in a higher gear longer for lower RPM. Does the LCD display show the gear you are in? I don't think it shows that in the manual.

I am sure someone has a better and more accurate way of explaining the gearing then me, since there are so many car folks on this forum. But, ya, when you are going steady at higher speed, there really isn't a difference except for a more sporty suspension, ride and quicker downshift for that get up and go feel.. Sports mode is awesome.

The only way I found to display which gear you are on is to do a manual paddle shift so there isn't a constant on screen which shows the gear. You can just feel the downshift when you push the gas down in sport mode.. it's amazing how quickly you get to 100 mph.
