Next to the USB port in my 2019 GT2 Stinger, there is a sensor of some kind labelled qi. I can't seem to find anything about this in the manuals. Was it a second USB port in an older or another model Kia?

It’s a wireless charging pad for your phone. That is, if your phone supports wireless charging of course (Definitely Samsung, iPhone 8 or later, and some others). My GT1 has it, also. It was added for 2019.

Thank you for answering my question. I searched the indices for all manuals and couldn't find it under Charging, Wireless, Phone, Telephone, Sensors, Aux, USB or Qi. It wasn't shown on any of the interior diagrams either. It's logical that it is tied to the adjoining wireless charging tray (which doesn't work with my phone). I also searched for the dashboard tray at the base of the windshield. It was omitted from the diagrams as well but I assume it's for a transponder for toll roads.

No worries. I don't recall where it's mentioned in the manual - I've just run into them before with phones so I was familiar. I forgot to mention, you can cycle through the dashboard driver menus and turn off/on the Qi charger feature. Just kind of turns it into a little cubby (I wrap my aux cord and tuck it in there), but no sense in having it powered if you can't use it.

Strange thing with mine is i can't seem to turn it off. The manual says that I should find the Qi menu under Convenience but it's just not there. Now, because I have this short cable that I use with apple carplay, my phone is being charged at all times by both cable and Qi. Hope this is not affecting it in the long run..

It’s in settings on the dash display in front of driver.

Yes, that's where I'm looking..
And when I put the phone in the tray, even though it's plugged in, the light on the Qi indicator comes on, as it would be when charging.
