so I originally just through the lane keep assist was very weak and flakey with the Kia compared to Honda sensing in my civic.

Recently swapped out the 225/45r18 bridgetknes for 245/45r18 Michelin’s ... all of a sudden lane keep assist seems more powerful than my Honda’s and far more stable and consistent then ever before

Was there something really off with my previous tire balance ? Or can bad tires just do this ?

Not sure how tires could make that much of a difference, but what LKA setting are you on? I’m on the highest setting and believe it’s pretty strong. It keeps me in lane, does a great job around bends in the road and when I don’t have the turn signal on and I try to move lanes...it fights me in a game of tug of war.

I have had it on the strongest setting all this time changing the tires is when the wy it worked improved a ton

What Michelin's are you using? The Bridgestones are Grand Touring tires, if you went up to UHP AS or some sticky Summer tires, they will perform a lot better than the OEM tires which might be why you noticed the change. I recall a similar situation with my first Optima, the car drove crappy with the OEM tires, they slipped a lot and the ABS and TC activation was excessive. I installed some Pirelli's and it was like I had a brand new car! Better tires can do that.

Uhp as Michelin as3+

Ride, noise, handling all improved I just found it interesting and weird that changing the tires actually made active lane keep hold the lane better and longer was flaky at best on the oem bridgestones

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Typically the higher performing tires are grippier so they respond faster.

My LKA is inconsistent and hardly ever works around corners, even mild ones. I had it on the highest setting. Now I just turn it off as I find it annoying to have it only work intermmittently.
