I got a 2022 Stinger GT2 AWD (Canadian) back in April. It's got about 40k miles on it and right off the bat, the windows wouldn't roll down. We tried replacing the window control unit and no luck. This is about the time we realized this was a Canadian car.

Then we took it to get it registered and it wouldn't pass emissions because the O2 and Catalyst would not show ready now matter how long it was driven (over 1000 miles). Also, we noticed the tac gets stuck when you rev it and you can hear the Wastegate action release air. You loose boost until you shut the car off and turn it back on. We ended up taking it to a Kia dealership where it has sat for 6 months. They have replaced the BCM and a "wiring harness" although they didn't tell me which one. Now the windows roll down, but the system still won't show ready, The tac/wastegate issue remains and NOW the TPMS sensors suddenly won't show good. The dealership claims they have tried recalibrating it with no luck.

We also found out that since it's Canadian, the warranty is no good in the US. So that's awesome. The dealer we bought it from did not disclose that and after bringing it up, they claim to not have known.

I feel like this is a fairly new car and shouldn't have this many issues. Unfortunately we got it used and other than CarFax, I don't know it's history. I'm wondering if someone tuned it or put a module in there that is causing these issues. Any sleuths out there have any ideas? The dealership is pretty terrible. They don't answer my calls, they haven't fixed this in 6 months and it's kinda getting ridiculous.

Hmm, sounds like an electrical problem and I would check the firewall and see if there is any holes drilled by someone

who wasn't familiar with how electricity works and damaged a wiring harness or two. I also purchased a Canadian Kia

and as you know, you are out of luck for a warranty but I wonder why you didn't see that is was a Canadian car on the

Carfax before you purchased? On the dealership issue, this is a huge problem as you probably know now but there are

some decent dealerships out there. Luckily, our local Kia was purchased by a larger auto group and is more interested in

customer service so that they will have repeat buyers in the future. Did the car have a CEL when you purchased it? Did it

do those things you mentioned when you purchased it? On another note, dealerships where we live don't have to disclose

anything but a window sticker that says "As is no warranty" and they have no idea about the history of the car because

somebody else who works for the dealership went to an auction and purchased the car and it was brought to the

dealership to be sold. Hoping you can find out the issues that are causing problems.

Hi. Hope your luck changes. Find a different dealer if you can. But other than accessing OEM parts through them, I really don't see a reason to have KIA touch your car, if you have a mechanic you trust already, since no warranty work will happen anyway.
