Hahah, worse. 16 yr old HS girl that was probably distracted by her cell phone!Soccer mom on her cell phone?
Your back hurts, right?
I would likely need a new tailgate. Is that cheap?? Got a quote from my insurance around $2600, but noticed that they had the wrong tailgate on there - the non-auto open tailgate. So, I expect that to change. I just want the car to look and function just like before.....or better LOL!relatively inexpensive part to replace , the painting will be 350-500 though ( 3 part paint , color , pearl , clear ) , plus some buffing on the bumper ...............
I hope not! But will have the bodyshop look into that.Holy, crap. That level of impact could even deform the diffuser and RR fender. Hopefully not.
Good eyes! I was seeing metal caved in with the plastic. But the metal surround appears to be entirely undamaged except for a couple of small paint nicks. All plastic damage, we hope. You dont need a whole tailgate just the plastic plate fascia , this piece has been posted years ago with a price I think it was something like 300.00 . Try to find a parts diagram
Really? The cracks are through the tailgate. I have not opened it since the accident fearing I would do more damage! The tailgate seems to be offtrack/not set properly as well. Will hopefully see what the body shop says soon. You dont need a whole tailgate just the plastic plate fascia , this piece has been posted years ago with a price I think it was something like 300.00 . West Coast is talking about the visual damage; it's all plastic panels. If you can look at the crack between the body and hatch lid, and it is consistent all the way around, then you do not (in all likelihood) have any structural/metal damage: if that's the case, you've got nothing to lose opening and closing the hatch lid yourself: the guys who check it out are going to do that anyway, so, you might as well go in with as much info as you can gather.Really?
