I think I know: my daughter just leased a brand new Toyota hatchback of some kind. She moved to a new place. The garage is not as roomy as their previous one; especially vertically. Her husband "did it": let the hatch go up without noticing the low-hanging door opener. Now their brand new car has a brand new ding in the hatch lid. :(

You can set the height at which you want tailgate to open up for that reason.

@162blondi if it's the opening height you're worried about ask the Dealer to show you how to set it. There's also a section in the owner manual dealing with it.
