Ah well ... all the white ones are sold here of the early batch around here that came in for presentations etc. Now I've got to wait till April. Argh.

That's a long wait. You're pretty set on white, huh?

Well there is one more car in the country. And it's some silver. No way I'm going to get myself the most boring color on the streets ever and swim along the fleet of salesmen VW Passats, all grey.... :)

No, it must be white.

Yeah, silver is a very popular option here as well. And grey. Because we're lazy and don't want to constantly wash our cars. That's MY excuse, anyway. :D

Yup, to the comment about the color silver and washing the car I plea guilty.

Not me ... I'm a car wash enthusiast :p I have several dozen car wash products at home, including nice dual bucket caddies, tornador air gun, a proper Numatic George vacuum cleaner/sprayer and way more.

The only downside is that I'm lazy, too and buy/stare at them more often than I use them :)

Ah well .. now I have 5 months to prepare buying things for the Stinger I guess.

where is "here" exactly?

Edit: nvm figured out the flag thing!! BL on the 4 month wait I guess haha

Yeah, it's not the Red Cross .... :) The number of games I came across, where the Swiss Flag was printed on a health kit....

Ah well, at least it means it will be warmer again and I can detail properly ... and one Salt Road season less on the metals :)

Welcome aboard, @Radman! Thank you for signing up! :) I'm glad to hear a few more of us like silver for the same reason. And, not only that, I'm sure we agree it looks great! I've had a few silver vehicles and while my current Accord is dark grey, I had originally wanted a light silver - until I saw one at the gym that I absolutely had to have - and it was mainly because of the wheels and that dark grey color. So now I'm a big fan of dark grey - which is very easy to clean. And the dark grey Stinger is my favorite (so far)...

I contacted. my dealer in NY this afternoon. I ordered a Ceramic Silver GT2 in October so I was asking for a status. This was the response...

"We actually just got our first notification of GT2 order fulfillments today. Unfortunately as it stands right now all 160 GT2 AWD’s currently allocated for dealers in the Northeast region are Hi Chroma red on black. Obviously this wont be every single vehicle Kia is sending out. They may be going by color right now.

We do have a red GT2 AWD confirmed coming in with this allocation however its showing an ETA of 1/16/18 right now."

Kapitan Kia is a fan of Henry Ford who said "You can have any color you want so long as it is Hi Chroma Red on Black

Well at least it’s not Black on Black. Even though black cars matter!

So here is what heard from a local dealership today....not really interested in working off the MSRP for dealer inventory. However they would be willing to work deals for order outs. No test drives available maybe after the new year. So that puts a pall on the roll out in my book.

I am going to back off and let the dust settle. It’s a car, just a car.

Wait times for order out 4 to 5 weeks. The dealer allotments late January to mid February. That’s why test drives are currently not being allowed? I would think the dealerships would assign one unit as the test unit and call it day. But apparently they think the Stinger is a Maybach or Aston Martin.

Okay, so some interesting news here. The dealers selling at over MSRP are already talking about coming down in price with new orders to be shipped in. Okay, we didn't want these added dealer fees to begin with - but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel has been established. It's not all that out of the ordinary for people who want to buy the new, shiny object first - to pay a higher price than the rest of us.

The test drive situation at some dealerships is very strange. They SHOULD have one car specifically there for test drives. I guess some do and some don't. Maybe it's bad management that puts them in a position where they can't use one car for test drives. I don't know. Something is amiss but this too will end...
