Volvo recalling more than a milion cars worldwide, because some engine components are at risk of melting.

I hardly suspect a recall for that. I lived in Phoenix and drove in 115° + aggressively without fail.

It could be a QC issue but there are so many who have experienced them which is less likely a QC issue. OEM rotors have never lasted with my driving from any manufacturer but I usually get 25k to 40k km before going aftermarket, with the stinger, mine went bad under 7K km lol.

"My driving" is revealing. Do your dead rotors turn into nice "hot" colors?
Most drivers do not have issues with the Stinger's brakes. That is obvious by the lack of clamor on the biggest Stinger forum in the world.

LoL naah never turn to pretty colors ,wouldn't that be something if it can reach those temps though:geek:. I do hard braking occasionally when I want to take an exit with a bit of spirit, outside of that it's 80% stop and go rush traffic. It's the fast deceleration coming across freeway rush that is the most likely culprit in my case, but that's my daily commute and nothing I can do about it, if any common car can decelerate at the same rate without having an issue, a brembo equipped car shouldn't even break a sweat under those conditions.
We have plenty of forum members who have had braking vibration issues all around 10K mileage, some even earlier; they fixed it by upgrading pads after putting new rotors.

"Plenty" is qualified. Any is one too many, if you're the one. But out of total membership the number of complaints about brakes is puny.

Regardless, out of those replacing with aftermarket, a seemingly sizeable fraction still have brake vibration issues. So this is more complex than a simple one fix for all.

Search the forums.

A lot of nervous old blokes with hats on won’t like reading this.....lol

Nah mate, the hat's on the rear parcel shelf, next to a box of tissues!

(I'd seriously consider a Polestar Volvo).

To be fair, "puny" is also qualified. :p Make no mistake, there is an issue with the brakes and it is not limited to a driving style. My Stinger brake issue has been elevated twice to the Kia Tech line level and the problem still isn't resolved. Due to the number of unresolved issues, the dealership I have my car serviced at has instituted a program such that ANY Stinger that comes in with a brake related matter goes straight to the service manager's attention. It is also happening to more than a small number of owners, hence the program creation by the service manager to identify and note all brake issues on the GT personally.

The service manager stated that the incidence rate of brake issues is rising with customers commensurate with new Stinger sales. The "demo" car that the dealer manager is driving has 1400 miles on it and the service manager states it has pulsating brakes with no "extreme" braking events reported by the dealer manager. Ironically, the service manager used that car as a comparison of a "new" car to my car prior to knowledge of the issue. Imagine their surprise when the "new" car exhibited the same symptoms.

And I did. One is too many.

Apparently so. Heavy brakers get away with it. Grandma/pa brakers get vibrations.

Well, yes of course. That would be true of all issues. E.g. the more Stingers on the road, the more complaints of paint issues will be shared here.

I agree with the posit that vibrating brakes are not just about pads and rotors; some cars seem to have faulty systems: doing what, who knows, yet?

My point was that "puny" was ambiguous speculation as well. The severity and incidence levels of the brake issue has made it stand out to my service manager as worthy of elevated personal attention. The service manager also reported no other issue as common or severe as the brake pulsations when I asked. Although I could be a grandpa, I don't brake like one. Would it surprise you to know that I was a heavy/late braker? I just hope that they find a cause and solution. I love my car but this issue is like the fiber of steak stuck between your rear molars after a great aged Kansas City Strip dinner with no toothpick or floss in sight.

Not laughing with amusement, just irony. Little lol. :P
No, I got the impression that you USE your brakes hard. That was a main reason for the upgrade. And now this. Heh!? I asked a question on the other thread, so answer there if you would, I won't duplicate.

No worries! I know you are a good soul! Just wishing I wasn't having the brake issue. Maybe I could have your brakes?

You would probably bring out the worst in them, pronto. I still have a virtually monogamous relationship with my Stinger. Just the thought of somebody else driving it and I start to sweat. :P

No, I don't want to touch your Stinger, I just want to sully your brakes. o_O
