Video of Stinger on fire (S. Korea)???

WT?
What ever the reason it's not good.

Can't help but feel sorry for the bloke - no way to begin the journey with a new ride whatever the reason. :(

Do we know if that's the 2.0T or GT? Also, aside from badging and stock wheel size, are there any physical exterior differences between the two that make them easy to differentiate? Are the fake hood vents only on the GT or anything like that?

When I saw it early this morning on YouTube, there was an English title that said it was the 3.3, but I can't find the video now. Whatever, it's worrying, since wasn't the 2.0 already recalled? Maybe a good thing that we have to wait until November?

Well that's just crazy! Not the sort of attention your looking for upon model release.
There is alot we don't here in this circumstance, and I'm as skeptical as you could be, so vehicle modifications, sabotage, accident ... all come to my mind first.
But if it is a car fault? ... we can only hope it isolated and/or well an truly sorted before international exports start for the rest us.

Looks like firewall testing, to me. Looks like it works too, bonus.

I read in the past about Kias (2.0 and 2.4 engines) seizing, and smoke would roll into the cab and out the hood, but with no flames. Some reports were about pretty low mileage cars. I want to think that since there's been a class action suit (dismissed?) and a recall, this problem shouldn't exist in new cars. Hope this video isn't evidence that there's still a problem.

Thats the good thing with releasing in the local market first, I actually hope more issues arise now before the international release so that they can rectify them.

2.0 was recalled?

Sean, I'm no expert about engines, but I'm pretty sure the recalled engine, 2.0T Theta II, actually is the engine that will be in the entry-level Stinger. But I assume they will fix it before we see one in a Stinger. Fingers crossed.

Ah well .. wonder what that was about
