• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R, the last hurrah for an Aussie V8.

Engine: 6.2ltr Supercharged V8
Power: 587bhp
Torque: 546lb ft
0 - 62mph 4.2 seconds

Here on Stinger forum, we have had some members whose AWD Stingers with 18" wheels are limited too 139mph, the V6TT i have heard is limited about 167mph, this Vauxhall with a 6.2ltr Supercharged V8 and built in Australia by GM Holden and Holden Special Vehicles is limited in speed at 155mph.
How would you feel purchasing this car worth 80,000 British pounds and finding out it was speed limited?
Anyway here is the video review from Motor1.UK.

Sad news, looked out of place in Britain and as a Vauxhall. Wouldn't say no to one but a bit thirsty for my liking. Stinger was the correct choice.

Yes I know but DCB was remembering the good ol days when he used to build them! If you want to know anything about Holden’s he’s da man!

Thanx @AV8R , so true, i remember meeting Peter Brock on a few occassions, signing my posters and model cars, going to Hurstbridge i think it was for Brocky's Big Day Out, i think it was called, can't believe it's been 12 years since he passed.:(

Yes, i have quite a few items signed by Peter Brock in person, one a framed photo of his 1997 Holden Supercar, i remember standing in line, so i had time to take the photo out of the frame, and he signed it , now the autograph is still pristine behind the glass frame and i have it on a wall, and i still see it everyday, memories.

Last of the true Aussie muscle cars, so glad I lived through this period of time.
Our parents didn’t really experience it & I guess our grandkids will only read about them or see them in museums.....we did live through a great era of motoring.

The car was Australian but the engine was the GM American LS3. You have failing hydraulic lifters to look forward to by about 100000 miles (expensive) with these engines not to mention piston slap often from new.

The future is lower capacity turbo engines as per the Stinger until the world's oil reserves run out as they will eventually. Ford won the Le Mans 24 hour with that beautiful USD 500,000(street version) Ford GT fitted with a twin turbo V6 which sounds fantastic even in street form. Then another Ford GT came in 3rd .

The V8 brigade in OZ are in an absolute tizz about the KIA Stinger and there is a long hate thread on the Just Commodores web site with heaps of uninformed opinion.
Will Kia Stinger really flog an SS?

Had a look at the link about flogging SS. Boy are those commodore guys angry. They have an opinion without even driving the car. Like to see their comments if they did drive one. Say Kia and they say $hitbox. Naive lot.

imagine how fun it would be to have a combined Stinger and Commodore meet and drive..haha:):mad::mad::mad:

I think they're more angry about the fact the Stinger checks so many boxes and ISN'T Aussie. Owners of American Musclecars never felt threatened by the import tuning crowd, even when their fwd/awd 4bangers and sixes started approaching, then matching or exceeding V8 power.

In my opinion, the reason was those import vehicles didn't play in the same aesthetic sandbox. Boxers don't normally compete against MMA fighters. The trash talk comes when someone from one arena tries to directly compete in another, i.e., Conor Macgregor v. Floyd Mayweather.

The Stinger can conceivably compete aesthetically with modern muscle, with comparable grunt. What we have on that forum are a bunch of Mayweather fans reacting to Macgregor saying he can compete in a ring not just the octagon, and having some legit chops even without previous boxing experience. My 2 cents :)

Yep some bagged it before it was released, I’m a former SS Holden owner, some of these guys are bitter & twisted, also interesting fact that 18% of new Stinger owners are Commodore trades....go figure huh!
