V8 Supercar Drive

Had the amazing opportunity of taking in a V8 Supercar experience at Eastern Creek (SMSP) today.
I had 8 laps behind the wheel of one of these 450hp beasts (a full V8SC is over 600hp) with a professional driver beside me & wow what an experience, up to 200km/h down the main straight & the cornering, handling, brakes & tyres on these things is outstanding.
I highly recommend anyone to have this experience.
Big thanks to @ShannonC who came out to initially watch but took these pics for me & also ended up having 3 Hot Laps around with a Pro at the wheel.
I’m just disappointed that we didn’t get pics of our Stingers parked side by side behind the pits, but I was wearing my Stinger T-Shirt.

It wasn’t a problem for me, I’ve been driving manual cars on & off since the early 70’s although I hadn’t driven one in a few years I was pretty happy that I didn’t stall it when leaving the pits.
I should add that I only shifted from 2nd to 5th once in the first lap, gearbox has tight gates.

@Flameangel i was looking down on one of the Commodores and saw an auto shift but that particular car wasnt used as much as the others. At driver briefing it was stated that 3rd and 4th were the most appropriate gears for that track. Could get up to 200kph in 4th.

Looked like fun, I'm sure they handled well around the track. Unfortunately the stock Stinger wallowed a lot when I went around. It's the shame the straight isn't a little longer. Im sure the roar from those throaty V8s would be something to remember- all senses on high alert lol.

V8 Supercars have a sequential box don't they? Have they dropped an H-pattern gearbox in there for drive days?

Yes V8SC have sequential gearboxes, these cars are purpose built for these “experiences”, fully gutted apart from dash with full roll cage & race seats, they run 450hp with 6 speed (H) pattern gearboxes full V8SC Brakes & Tyres, it’s the closest thing that the general public can experience in driving a V8SC.
