UVO - Vehicle parking location

I am finding that most of the time, I am not getting updates of where my Stinger is parked. The few times I do get it, my phone has to be plugged in for a few seconds after the car is off. Is this how it is supposed to work? I was imagining the service could be used in the event the car gets stolen or the wife takes it on a joy ride and I want to be a creeper and see where she went, but if it only updates with my phone plugged in at time of shutoff, then what's the point? I also have no data as far as trip data or diagnostics. Even the miles driven seems to be lagging behind in updating.

Please let me know if I'm missing something here.

You aren't missing anything - UVO in the USA has no built in data service for telemetry, so you have to manually sync to your phone.

Any idea on why the many differences between USA and Canada Stinger/UVO? The Canada UVO has much more functionality.

Yes. US regulatory agencies requiring so much more "certification" of features.
