Hello All.
I am considering a 2020 Stinger GT with 17K miles on it. Price is ~$36K.
I’m coming from a Premium Infiniti 2015 Q50.
My question is…
Should I be looking at a higher trim level? Or rather. Would it be worth the extra $$ for them?
Thank you for your opinions!

Howdy, and welcome. The answer is it's up to you. The GT has the single most important non-negotiable: the 3.3L engine. Everything else is subjective to your tastes and druthers. My other two "must haves" were the Harman Kardon 15 speaker surround sound and the sunroof. Others deliberately avoid the sunroof and live without the HK. The 9 speaker "factory" stereo is very good: I've compared it to mine, and the max bass output is only a little less. It should satisfy unless you are an audiophile (I claim to aspire to be one :P). Other features, like AWD and heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, memory seats, and so on, are all extras that I would easily do without in order to get the Stinger that works for the money. 17K miles isn't super low, but it is low. As long as the paint looks good and there is no evidence of a concealed crash, and the car performs well and silently (no extraneous noises), I would be very interested in that vehicle.

Hi thank you!
Yeah I’m a little worried about the stereo as well. I REALLY enjoy a good stereo system and probably spent way more time and effort than o ever should tweaking most vehicles I’ve ever had…
But I suppose I should really test drive first and truly see for myself!

I was in the same conundrum as you a year ago ..drive down to the twin cities to look at 2 used GT2s.. with around 30k miles, test drove em, saw wear and tear etc etc.. went to another dealership that had a brand new GT.. for the same price as used GT2s, I really wanted a GT1 but couldn't find one. But my GT still has heated seats, heated steering wheel, AWD etc etc and was brand new, and I used the extra money for all my mods . Sunroofs are nice but they tend to rattle and steal some rigidity from the car.. I've built custom stereos in my past cars running multiple amps, subs, etc etc and I've learned to live with the stock 9 speaker as I enjoy driving the car and don't necessarily needs bass blowin my windows out..

Honestly the factory audio is fine. Like Merlin stated it is subjective to taste. But in terms of the factory audio I did not feel like I was missing much compared to the HK. In my case I actually don’t care for a sunroof. The only thing that truly bothers me but there is pros and cons with every car and it’s just the bezels on the 8 inch but after a few months I got over it.

I have a 2020 GT AWD. When I bought the car I thought I might regret not getting some of the extra features found in the GT1 or GT2, but I really don't. My wife has a high end Palisade with HK stereo system and all the driver assistance features. I don't notice that much of a big difference in sound quality and frankly I don't use the driver assistance features much because I love driving the car "manually".

In the end, the Stinger GT is a driver's car. You want that 3.3T engine - everything else is icing on the cake. And in my experience, it's the electronics that are the first to go wrong in any car. The less you have on your car, maybe the better.

I got my 2018 gt because it was the lightest trim and had less shit to break. I only wanted awd with v6. Some parts are cheaper than higher trims also.Stuts for example, $150 vs $500.

For me the surround camera is everything and that comes with the gt2. Im totally in love of that feature. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

That's a pretty good price from what I saw when i was looking recently. I wanted a cpo 2020 gt1 or 2021, but for damn near the same price, I got a new 2022 gt1. I wanted the hk stereo, this one sounds ok and I have a high end system at home.

Last bit info to add to this. I believe it also depends on what car you are coming from. I was just driving a commuter car that did not have the safety tech features and etc. So having memory seats, upgrade sound system, safety features I like to call them granny tech lol. Having a backup camera was luxury enough for me ahahaha.

I will agree 1000% the less tech you have the less stuff to break on you. But when it comes to a sound system I rather have that in my home rather then a car

Well back to the drawing board. I’m kicking myself bc I couldn’t get there this past Saturday and ended up hoping to go THIS Saturday…now it’s gone. Oh well. But half the fun is the hunt, right?

I ended up going with an 18 GT2 in late April/early May of 2021, I sealed the deal literally a day before the prices really started to skyrocket. From what I have read on here, the 19 and 20 model years seem to have the least overall issues, but every car will have its issues no matter what. I had inquired on 11 other GT2's that had sold from underneath me before I was able to lock in one, as dealers at the time literally could not keep them on the lot. for example, I watched blue 18 GT2 with like 15k Miles be posted as I refreshed one of the car searching website pages, called the dealer 15 minutes later and it already had a hold payment on it. The one I ended up buying was 300 Miles away from me in NJ (I live in NH) and the only reason that I was able to get it was because I had called about a different 18 GT2 at the same dealer, that ended up being sold, and the salesmen mentioned that he had quite literally JUST finished taking one in from a 3 year lease that had ended, and the person got into a 21 GT2. He said that he could not even give me pictures of it because it went straight to detailing. (Which it turns out, it needed BADDLY, and then some, but that's another story)
Ended up flying down and driving it home after spending just under 35k for a CPO, Red AWD GT2 with 23k miles on it.
I LOVE my stinger even with all its faults (Which could be a decently long list if I really wanted to nitpick, but half of them are from the person who originally had the lease, so not really the cars fault)

at the end of the day, The WORST thing about these cars is how hit or miss the dealers are. you either have a really, really good service department like my local dealer does, who will literally warranty anything you ask without asking any questions, or you will get a dealer that will try and Nickle and dime you on EVERYTHING, like the scumbag dealer I bought it from in NJ. (STAY AWAY from Fette Infiniti/kia/whatever, for anyone reading this) There is really no in-between.
