Hi,

Tomorrow I'm going to check out a 2018 GT2 AWD sunset yellow and I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips and advice of what I should be looking for. I am putting down 5k and have a trade-in.

I've already been in touch with the dealership and they initially offered me the listed price of 37,988, but I asked if they could do 35,000. Obviously, they denied and said they could do 37 even. I denied and now they are offering me 30,800 OTD (after down payment and a trade-in). I believe they said the term was for 72 months with 5.9%. They said my payment would be around $495/mo. Is this a good deal? Should I keep fighting for something better?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

(I would post a link but I can't b/c I'm new here, but you can find the car @ Gary Rome Kia in Enfield CT if you'd like to check it out)

A Yellow is a respray. There is no way that $37K OTD is competitive with other Stinger options. What miles? Condition of paint? Check the under panels and make sure no rivets are missing (I have this on my mind currently :P).

The wisdom says that you never put money down on a lease. You didn't say "lease", but I am assuming.

I wish I could advise you better. Welcome to the forum, btw!

Thank for the response! I’m financing. They did have it repainted. But I won’t know how good it looks till I see it in person. It has 10k miles on it also.

Are you set on yellow? There aren't many yellow GT2's, so that limits your options greatly.

$37k is only a fair price for an '18 with somewhat low miles (10k I see) - for a repainted car it's definitely high. Ideally you should aim for $36k on a non-repainted AWD GT2 of another color. If it's gotta be a yellow GT2, you'll probably need to either be patient to get a fair price or be willing to fly out and drive one home from further away.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I was there a few weeks back test driving a '19. Saw it sitting there. They told me they bought the car at auction so they probably got it pretty cheap due to the paint issues. I believe he said it was resprayed. From 10 feet away it looked ok. I didn't end up looking closely at it.

5.9 % is steep. Re-fi it with a credit union, maybe at 3.5%
