This might be something to get excited about. Many have commented that the infotainment screen in the Stinger could use some work when compared to similar higher end vehicles (MB/Audi/BMW) - specifically around the thick bezels that surround the display that give the unit kind of a cheap appearance. I think everyone knows what this looks like by now, but just for reference, here it is:

When the Genesis G70 was revealed, even though it shares a great deal of the design & engineering present in the Stinger, the infotainment display in the Genesis was of a more premium design. The Genesis display has a full-glass-front design, rather than having plastic bezels like those that surround the Stinger screen. For reference:

Well, I just noticed in a video of one of the demo units that is being shown around in Canada, this Stinger has a display that appears to be identical to the one in the Genesis G70. It's hard to tell if it's full-face glass, but the shape is unmistakeable - the G70's screen is more angular and less rounded at the top corners than the one we've been seeing in the Stinger so far, and the one in this video was a dead-ringer. Here it is:

I'm wondering if this means if we are going to see premium, full-glass-front infotainment screens on higher spec Stingers? One can dream!

Wow nice find! That would be amazing

That is really interesting and a great find on that detail! We can only hope. I'm still disappointed at how there is nothing really official yet for the NA market, but I digress... Sigh.... Lol.

Would be nice, but, given a choice, I'd trade the aesthetic screen/bezel improvements for the 360° camera. Also, customer delivery photos from the Aussie thread show the regular bezel, so hopefully just another differentiator between KMA and RoW cars.

I'm pretty sure we are getting the 360.

I like the all glass screen, but I prefer the original shape. I do not like the angles. I like the rounded look.

What a great find!!! ;) Little thing like that has been bugging me since I first saw it. My bud has a 4 series and it looks sleeker and horizontally elongated so it’s hidding the bezel in plain sight. I definitely like the way it looks in the G70 when it was announced.

The solid black oval on the steering with only the KIA outlined is also an interesting change. I think it is a small improvement over the traditional badge. As for the screen, no bezel would be better. However, I sat in a demo today and the screen looks just fine with the bezel.

I am more bothered by the fact that, the way it is mounted, either screen has that "tacked on, afterthought" look (as opposed to being well integrated into the instrument panel). In its current form it is as though the screen was supposed to retract straight down...

This would be a welcome change. The current bezel/frame we're all familiar with is pretty off putting.

The video clip below from SEMA shows the Stinger with the original screen, but, with a cover for the cupholders (starts at 1:42)!

Oy vey, I wonder if other car launches have been like this?

The Kia Stinger is an artifact of great power and great mystery. Its power is exceeded only by its mystery, and strangely, its mystery is exceeded only by its power.

Say the first batch of US Stingers came with the original screen, but you know a future batch will become available 3-6 months later will have the all-glass screen, would you wait, assuming everything else was equal?

It's such a minor difference, but aesthetically, the all-glass screen looks so much more modern.

I wouldn't wait - but I'd replace the screen. :)
