I’m looking to upgrade my brakes. I am not super happy with the stock stinger brakes, as I enjoy some spirited driving now and again, and if I’m repeatedly applying heavy braking my brakes seem to heat soak quicker than I want them to. They start to feel extremely spongy and last night the performance of my brakes dropped sharply, and I didn’t feel comfortable being my speed back up past 60. (I was definitely driving aggressively, so I don’t necessarily blame the brakes) I am, however, looking to upgrade.
Any recommendations? Has anyone tried the Ceika Brake kit, the Fella brakes, or R1 concepts? I’m looking for a sport upgrade, but I want very low/no noise and not an excessive amount of brake dust. I absolutely understand that there is a trade off, more dust and noise for better stopping power. But I also know there is a middle ground, which is what I’m trying to find seeing as though I daily drive my stinger.
I drive a 2023 stinger Tribute edition. I’m leaning towards R1 concepts, but for some reason the only compatibility for the 2023 stinger is in the rear position? Is there a difference between the 2023 stinger braking system and earlier models that would restrict me from installing an R1 concepts that is compatible with the 2022 stinger on my car? If there is no difference in the braking system between 2023 stingers and earlier models, then I will probably go ahead with the R1 concepts.
If anyone has good suggestions for upgraded brakes let me know. If it would be better to just replace the rotors or just replace the calipers that would be very helpful info as well.
