I’ll like to apologize to the Stinger community for the drastic measure I had to take in order to resolve my warped back panel lol Some of y’all may have seen my previous post regarding me melting my back panel while trying to rebadge my 2019 stinger GT. I’ll include pervious photos below. We’ll I’ve decided to save up for Seibon Carbon fiber garnish, trunk lid and hood but in the mean time i decided to cover up my mistake by placing the “E” Emblem on the rear of the car. I understand I do not make the community look good, but I promise with time this car will look a lot better lol Lmk y’all thought on this solution.

I really want to take the GT-Line badge off my 2022, was thinking heat gun with fishing line to cut it off....maybe just fishing line after seeing what happened in your case.

all the reading I've done on this subject, for years now, and now this warped hatch panel to top it all off, convinces me that if I ever do badge removal it will be without any heat more than sitting in the sun. Ideal conditions for badge removal are eighty-plus degrees ambient temperatures, with the badge all toasty from direct sunlight. Anything hotter than this is risking paint damage, or worse.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Park it in the sun. Just peel it off little WD-40 the clean up the glue or Goof OffPXL_20230511_161131128~2.webp

Learning from my mistakes, avoid the heat gun at all cost. Leave it to the professionals, if you do have to do it yourself and like me where we don’t get a lot of sun at the moment, a hair dryer will be good at the lowest setting with some dental floss. It will take longer but you avoid costly mistakes. I can’t speak on fishing wire though.

line, not wire! many use heavy dental floss, the least risky 'sawing' material. you just might have to go through a lot of it.

I second that. I used dental floss to rebadge my Stinger and it went fine. The only thing that sucked was removing the glue.

Definitely should have been 1 thread..

I wonder why you are re badging your Stinger. If it's a GT Line it's a GT line.

On another point I discovered that the rear panel is plastic. I went to my paint less dent removal guy believing that the indentations on the rear panel below the centre KIA badge, the latest streamlined badge for 2023, were put there by heavy handed oafs.

Turns out they are from the plastic mould.

Rebadging insinuates I'm replacing the badge, I am not. Its simply cleaner without it IMHO. De-badging would be the correct term.

I was saying to myself "how can a heat gun warp metal like that...it's not a welder".
I guess the question to myself has been answered.

Thanks
