Just finished watching YouTube video on a review for of course a Stinger. In the video the rater advises that the Stinger's 365hp can be upgraded to 460hp? You can hear him verify with what you would assume is a sales person; the salesperson states that for $85 they can reprogram the car to run at it's full potential. Any truth to the claim?

I too would be interested to know if that is true, as the reviewer incorrectly stated the faux hood vents are only available on the GT. He also misstated both engine displacements. And while that says more about the reviewer than salesman, it wouldn't be the first time a salesman mentioned an "option" either not available or "misremembered" as even existing. I'd love to be proven wrong about the existence of this option, though!

Exactly. And if it were, have fun blowing up the transmission in about 3 days... Cars are built on razor's edges, and each component is balanced to do what they can do, not much more, certainly less. Shoving 460hp with who knows how much torque into clutch plates NOT meant for this, watch the transmission keel over and die quickly.

This is why I don't get many people trying to shove another 50hp or so out of their vehicles. Is 0-60mhp in 4.4 seconds not enough, as if you'll notice 4.1 or 4.2? Come on now...

Don’t do it, the spark plug will explode like corks! Some one else did the same mod without modifying the engine bolt ons and blew it up.

I mean it seems insane to me someone would make such outlandish statements without having full knowledge or even proof that this could be done. But again I remember, some people are really really dumb

Another salesman desperately trying to make a sale. Uninformed people make for hilarious videos. Or the reviewer is just trying to get more people to look at his charger videos. People are using the stinger as a way to draw others into there page right now. As a business stand point it's a smart move but do your research and double check things.

Isn't there a piggyback tune that can push close to 400 whp? That would be close to 460hp at the crank.

If there's a dealer that would be willing to warranty that and only charge $85 for it, I'll eat my key fob.

And will they want to replace your spark plugs and coils when they blow up? Or would they supply & install the upgraded plugs that are recommended (seemingly required) with that piggyback?
