Just had my 23,000 mile inspection and they said that I tore my under shield, see attached image. They also recommended that I put splash guards on my car. The under shield is about $500 and the splash guards are another $500, any recommendations?Screenshot 2025-05-13 at 7.12.06 PM.webp

They aren't *strictly* necessary. That looks like the forward-most one, which does help direct air into the intercooler and radiator, so I'd certainly prefer to have it there. But the reality is you're fine without it. Unless you're really pushing the car, in which case you're looking out for overheating anyway.
So it's your call. Spend the money or don't.

I don't know WTF they're talking about for "splash shields" vs "underguards". Just get the factory stuff. From the picture the panel behind this one is missing - it goes under the back half of the engine and the transmission. It has to be removed to drain the oil, so it might just be laying on the ground.

Thanks a lot.

They’re also saying I should get the mudflaps.

I can find them online for a 10th of the price of what they want.

A tenth the price? Go for it. I answered your mudflaps/mudguards thread last night with a $100.01 to the door price that I paid last month.

As for the undercarriage panels. Don't dispense with them. They are not primarily an air direction measure. Their first function is to eliminate splash from the road. They are weather protectors. And they will do the job for many years as long as you don't go "swimming" with your car.

I appreciate it

The dealership wanted $500

There are 50 for the front and 50 for the back Online

So I guess it’s a fifth of the price

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I got the rock blockz mud flaps (youtube for install) and you can find the front splash guard online much cheaper, but they aren't cheap nor is the shipping, maybe the to fix the tear on your own? Get creative!
