I noticed some uneven tire wear, and took my GT2 into a local shop to check the alignment. They were unable to correct the camber in the left rear tire (see attached). Any advice on how I should approach KIA or the dealer? With only 2200 miles, there haven't been any road incidents that could have caused this bad a problem (mostly highway miles), so suspect this is a factory problem (e.g., out of spec part).

"My LR tire is wearing out. Fix it! ... Please!"

Something's bent and/or the shop you took it to doesn't know how to correct it. Get it to the dealer ASAP. Deny any knowledge of anything that could have created the problem.

Pretty sure the shop guys know what they are doing, but you never know. Thanks.

The rear camber in factory spec is -1deg30 +-30(Range -1deg to -2deg). Meaning it should stay in green for your rear camber. However you may need to bring it back to being equal on both rear wheels. Do ensure the specs are accurate for RWD and AWD as it does vary slightly. get them to correct your toe as that does affect the camber marginally.

How can they NOT correct it, if it's never been damaged after purchase???

Will talk to the dealer about that. Thanks!

Good question. The shop guys maxed out the adjustment.

I've got the same issue. Apparently you can't adjust the rear camber after you lower it. So now I'm looking into camber kits otherwise I'd consider putting the stock springs back in (the rear anyway).

The last (and it is the last) time I sent my car through a car wash tunnel, and the OWNER did the sending, centering it perfectly, etc; and it came out the other end with a completely rashed LR rim, he said, "alignment must be off". Hah. "Pothole." No potholes, sorry; I've had zero incidents with this car.

I'll watch the tire wear. Maybe something related to this is going?

Toe adjustment effects camber adjustment also. You have to adjust them together as they effect each other. Toe is not maxed out so I don't know how they can say they ran out of adjustment.

Thinking about it more...we don't know if the toe adjusting bolt is maxed out or not. It looks like there should still be room to adjust it based on that chart. If it is maxed out too something might be bent. You can take a look and see where both arms are adjusted to, they're easy to see if you look from the rear at your suspension arms where they mount to the subframe.

FWIW, I was able to get a dealer to correct the alignment. Here is the alignment sheet.

Cheers

Hey, how did they do it ? while I'm working on fixing camber issue on my front left, which I talk about in another thread, one alignment guy got my rears aligned, but then when at kia dealer for their diagnostic on front, they told me my rear right is out of toe and can't be aligned and asked me if I hit a curb or something on the right rear, which I did not.. one guy aligns and 2 weeks later dealer says it's out.

Anyways, any info on why one guy couldn't align the toe and how this guy did ?

Sorry, I do not have anything in my files on what the dealer did. The shop guys aligned everything but the left rear camber. The alignment sheet notes that they "ran out of adjustment." Oddly, the dealer "before" numbers have some settings out of spec that were in spec according to the shop guy's machine (a Hunter machine, I think).

Sorry, this isn't much help. Hope you can get to the bottom of your issue!

Cheers
