UK CarWoW Review

After watching the review I realised he was comparing to cars that cost £5k-£8k more AND £20k more if you spec them the same.

IMHO it was a poor review.

While I disagree with some of his analysis, his issue with interior quality by shaking the center console was laughable. I tried doing that with my car and could not get the same result as he did. He may have reviewed a press car.

I feel he wants to like the car but doesn't want to alienate his german fanboi base.

I only was able to go through half of his review, what an a-hole

Just went through some of his other reviews of other makes.... the shaking of the centre console with such force never seen. To be fair alot of other Euro makes will happen the same if push and pull intentionally.

Since I'm from the US, I like his reviews and the different point of view from a UK based reviewer. Reviews are opinions, and everyone has one....they key is finding ones you connect with and trust. Overall, every review as +'s/-'s but there is s general theme across all the major reviews....the Stinger is a great car for KIA! But they have a way to go before unseating Audi, BMW or Mercedes. I also think that clinging to "best value" may be hurting their marketing plan.

Yeah.... after that review I deliberately tried to shake the center console of my 2012 soon to be retired Optima Hybrid. Couldn't duplicate that on a six year old car. Yeah it had to have been a press car.

IMHO reviews are to provide and help consumers in making choices although ultimately its our own. As long as the reviews and test elements are consistent it will be of great help which will provide better accuracy and consistency to consumers. Unseating of the major luxury brand probably not at this point of time or even in the forseeable few years to come as those major brands are here not by chance but with heritage, excellent products and know how. KIA stepping up gives alternatives and a very compelling one.

Matt’s review for the Korean brands are pretty much the same. ‘It seems like he is saying why do I have to review this car?” And it shows in how he conducts the reviews of them. I think the KIA is priced closer to those cars over there so he is pointing out things he thinks it should be at similar levels. KIA should do soft plastics on the entire dash area on the GT, the lower portion of the door is fine with the hard plastics but for the touch points, make it softer. They probaly will as they listen to their customers.

I thought the review was mostly fair. He seemed to really enjoy driving it. As for shaking the center console being fair or not, seems fair to me. He noticed it moved and on the car he had shaking it like that caused a lot of movement. Do all of them do that? I hope not, but the next time I get in one, you can be damn sure I will check... All the other stuff seemed pretty spot on, he didn't really mention anything a lot of other reviewers have also talked about, he was just more snarky about it.. as far as comparing it to Audi and BMW, and everyone claiming he shouldn't because they are more expensive, I find that ridiculous. Kia is the one that came out and compared it to the Audi and BMW and even Porsche, if the manufacturer makes that bold comparison, of course the reviewers will compare them as well.
