I'm starting to notice color combinations showing up at dealerships that aren't available online. I've seen a couple of Snow White Pearls in GT1 and GT2 that have the red interior package. I've also seen some Silky Silver in GT1 and GT2 with black seats. Neither of these combinations can be configured online. See this example:

New 2018 Kia Stinger GT1 Rear Wheel Drive 4 Dr Sedan

I've noticed that too. Would it be too unbearable to wait for the GT in Panthera Metal with the Red Interior Package to follow suit? Maybe so. However, that combo is alive and well just about everywhere else but the US.

Interesting. When the dealer ordered mine (ceramic gray) he said the order tool let him choose either red or gray interior. Since a gray interior isn't on the website, he couldn't say if it was an error or not, so we ordered red. I would have preferred boring old gray. Anyway, hopefully more color combinations are indeed available beyond what's on the website. Hopefully someone here has a definitive answer...

I actually heard dealerships have the option of basically custom-ordering a car however you want, even though certain options won't be listed on the consumer website. If so, that would be great to hear that Kia's being flexible.

The evidence indicates otherwise. Read this post, and his follow-up three posts later.

I agree. I'm starting to believe it's something of a Bait N Switch tactic being used by some dealers to lock in a sale with a "maybe I can make your unicorn come true" but a week later the big No Can Do arrives. Then they soften the blow by offering your 2nd or 3rd choice that just so happens to have been sitting on their lot from the get go.

My wife and I just left the dealership having signed papers to a base RWD Stinger in Micro Blue that should be arriving on a trailer next week! I'd heard/read that base models were only available in the "un" colors....Apparently not :)

So here's the thing. Dealers can order as many Stingers as they want and in any combination they want, but whether Kia actually allocates the Stingers the dealerships ordered to those dealerships or not is on Kia. If a dealership is selling a lot of Stingers, Kia is much more likely to give that dealership exactly what they ask for.

This is a big reason we want our dealership to be the biggest Stinger dealer in the area so that we can essentially custom order them for our customers.

Howdy, Dave! According to the Kia website as of tonight, base RWD Stingers appear to only be available in white, black, or Silky Silver. Do you know if this view of available colors could be filtered based on location? Do dealerships have access to view colors/color combinations not viewable on the Kia website?

Dealerships can look up any available interior/exterior combo located at other dealerships in your state. Even the ones not on the Kia website. I believe all of the base RWD colors should be distributed and available but I could be wrong.

Interesting...thanks, sir! We're happy with our new Kia and it's color...so if it were available in Panthera, I kinda don't wanna know as that was my "dream on" choice lol :)

I think the base RWD is only those 3 colors to make people want to step up to the Premium, so don't sweat it! Glad to hear you're digging your 4 cylinder model. Surprisingly we've only sold the V6s so far.

Right, so if the base RWD is only supposed to come in white, silver, or black then our Micro Blue base RWD must be a newly available option, or a "unicorn" of sorts as we'll be taking delivery of it without any other options. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! :) We test drove a GT as well, and loved it! The sucker has some serious midrange punch, but at this point in my life I don't need all that muscle, not to mention the INEVITABLE speeding tickets that would ensue lol

In what state/country is your dealership located, Dave Miller?

Oops, totally missed the part where you said you bought a base in micro blue! That is badass! I need to look through our vehicle locator myself and see what combos aren't listed on the Kia website that I have access to.

Hey Rufus, I just checked to confirm and it looks like you were 100% correct. Blue is available on the base Stinger. It's the only color available other than the 3 listed on the Kia website. Congrats on the beautiful car :)

I'll take it! I wonder why it isn't shown on the website? And how did you confirm that? Is there a database you have access to as a dealer we are not privy to?

I have a vehicle locator that lets me look up cars at other Kia dealerships in my area so that if we don't have exactly what a customer wants we can hopefully trade another dealership for it.
