Sorry guys, intake noob here. If I just put some K&N drop in filters into the stock air boxes here... will I hear any of the turbo sounds?

you will not. The stock air boxes quite down the turbo noise a lot.

I disagree. I hear my turbos whine very nicely with my K&N drop in filters. Probably because I don't get the growl an aftermarket intake creates. If any of ya'll get to El Paso, I'll be happy to let you hear em.

I had the K&N drop-ins before I upgraded to the K&N typhoon intake, I couldn’t hear anything from the drop ins.

So robz32 and Soca Boy are both correct. Popped in the K&N drop in filters yesterday, drove around 50 miles under varying acceleration conditions, couldn't hear any difference. No turbo blow off sound for sure. To mentally justify the $100 on the filters, I did notice at idle, it felt slightly smoother (99% sure it's a placebo effect here).
Probably will look into either adding VT ram air, or just getting the Injen intake (the only system currently with a CARB approval pending in Cali).

That explains my lack of extraneous noises. Gunshot ears, here. 
High frequency hearing loss.It's very odd, though: how I can hear low frequency "scritching" sounds when nobody else can, because of the attached high frequency sounds. Example: years ago the family was complaining about a cricket in the house. I could not hear a thing. They directed me to the utilityroom. I got down with my ear low to the floor and moved toward the water heater, and sure enough I could hear this faint scritch/scratch coming from under there: clearly the legs rubbing on the wings. I could hear THAT easily: but no "song". And nobody else could hear what I could hear.

Indeed. I only have the 2020 2.0 and inbetween 1000 and 3000 rpm of slowly accelerating- I can hear the whistle plain as day. Anything over 3 rpm is seems the engine drones out the whistle. I know nothing about cars by the way. I just know how to drive them haha
Hey all, new guy here. Just picked my 3.3 up on Friday. Love it! I‘ve got ~350 miles on it as of today and I started to push the throttle a bit (maybe 75%) in Sport mode and the turbos are absolutely noticeable with the windows down. They scream from 1500-3000 rpm. Can’t imagine what it would be like with an intake. I’ll try to get an audio clip later.
Update to this - found out my driver's side turbo fins were bent. Kia is initially surmising that it's due to a loose locknut and/or too much play in the shaft. They are replacing it. Will update when I have more info.

What occurred that made them look for the problem?
It sounded like a whistle, which lead to the turbo. They checked the inlet and outlet seals. When they removed one, it was significantly more pronounced. That led them to look at the blades themselves and then saw the problem.

ok, ig the australia 6 cylinfer fg turbo, you would blank off the orinal blow off valve, and blank off where it would run back in begore the intake, used to make a great turbo. can the sane be said about a 1.6 ceration 1.6tutbo?
