Trying to join the Stinger Club haha!

Fire away Jordan. I'm sure you will get some answers on this forum.

I'd love to but for some reason it won't let me post a reply? Not sure why. It keeps saying I don't have the privileges to do so

Hello there Stinger faithful,

My name is Jordan and I currently own a 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue and in the coming days, a soon to be sold 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo.

I have basically ran through all potential cars that may be next for me and admittedly, the Stinger sits pretty high on that list. It's been a car that I've admired since I saw it in a pop up experience shop in a local Southern California mall. Well, here we are and it's been about 2-3 years since that day and I am potentially looking to purchase a GT2 RWD Stinger. With that said, I know I'm asking quite a few questions and while some of them may come off as pretentious I can assure you they are moreso rooted in ignorance and I'd love to be enlightened.

1. I am looking at a local dealer who has a 2020 Kia Stinger GT2 RWD HiChroma Red, Black interior. Car has 900 miles and dealer wants 39,500 for it. What are your thoughts on this deal? Something seem off? Should I try to push for anything further? I mean I know I'm asking to move mountains here but ideally, I'd LOVE to get out of the door at no more than $40,000 after all fees, taxes, etc. Either way, I'd love to hear your input on this potential deal.

2. I should start by saying I'm spoiled more than ever as a 86 owner. The 86 platform has proven to be incredibly fruitful with aftermarket support. Literally, I'm not kidding when I say there is legitimately an aftermarket part for every single part that sits on an 86. Gauge dials and cluster dress up pieces, upholstery modifications, audio upgrades, aero kits of all kinds, EL and UEL headers, tuning from an OpenFlash tablet to ECUTEK dedicated tunes. Anyway, you get it... the list goes on and on. Admittedly, I definitely took this for granted as my early journey into the Stinger makes me feel like the platform or cupboard of aftermarket support for the Stinger is largely bare. Am I wrong in my early findings? I feel like most mods are badge swaps, small lighting (devils claw, lower bumper vents, the StingerHaus aero kit and that's about it. Don't get me wrong, I've seen the Akrapovic tips mod, Borla exhaust and tips, JB4 tunes, carbon fiber trim, etc.

I guess what I'm asking is if there is a side of the community I haven't seen yet? It's not that I'm trying to build a track monster or some stanced Stinger, as a matter of fact, quite the opposite of that. My BRZ is built in the honor of a OEM+ build. STI/TRD, Toyota, Subaru grace most of my car. If it's not those brands then it's the highest quality manufacturers such as Fujitsubo. I ask this because despite my best efforts I've yet to see any type of Stinger built with the same desires of an OEM+ or OEM performance views and parts. Now, I'm certainly not against trying to blaze that path if and when I get a Stinger but this is overall something it seems that I've noticed. Am I wrong?

3. Is there a place I could find a common questions or understanding of this vehicle. For example, is there a reason that most exhausts seem to not include exhaust tips? Or alternatively, why does it seem that manufacturers produce only tips to fit the stock muffler. I'm just quite taken back by this? Are there any manufactures that I should be aware of that make the best high quality KDM parts? It would be unfair to assume Kia themselves offer nearly as much OEM+ performance parts as Subaru since they have a performance department in STI. However, it seems everything Kia offers is carbon fiber trims and not much else. Once again, am I wrong? The 86 platform has many different manufacturers you can order from but one of the most popular is FT86SpeedFactory or SubieSpeed (both owns by the same company). Is there a place that is similar to this? So far I've discovered this forums shop and the K8 Stinger Store.

Anyway, that covers my questions and I look forward to a healthy dialogue with all of you Stinger Faithful and I hope to join the group soon.

Umm, reading your wording @Jordan Silveira , are you wanting to ask questions or wanting us to ask you questions ? ;)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Looking to buy a Stinger and would love some questions asked!

Why are you buying a Stinger?
When are you buying a Stinger?
Are you looking for a 2.0 or 3.3?
What options do you want?
What cars have you owned before?
Are you paying cash, leasing or buying?
Will you modify the car?
What color exterior do you want?
What color interior do you want?
Do you want AWD or RWD?
Do you want summer tires?
Do you like eggs?
Do you like beer?

All good questions! However, I would replace "eggs" with "BEER"

What trim Stinger do you lust after?
Are you going to finance, pay cash or lease? (do you plan to do the buyout?)
What's your favorite color? (red, no, blue, AAAARGH!!!)
Where are you staying?
Are you a family man or single? Is the Stinger practical as you answer this question?
Have you been lurking long or did you just discover the Stinger Forum?
What is your current ride?

(That's enough questions for now. )

Ugh! I'm sorry for the late night insomnia driven post. I obviously meant I have a few questions I'd like to ask you all in the Stinger community and ideally, I'd like to get answers in the most transparent way possible. As of now I have posted all my questions but for some reason it says it's waiting for moderator approval so it's not actively showing on this thread. Anyway to get it approved so I can get some feedback?

Sal's province. I haven't heard of "awaiting approval" before. A year or more back, one of our new members was limited to very short posts for some mysterious reason. Sal fixed that, but only he knows what it took.

I think I got the one needing approval.

I think that for a 2020 GT2 that is a really good starting price, even for 900 miles on the clock. OTD will be, what, enough to bring the total to c. 20% off MSRP!

I'm no modder, so your other questions go to others. Modders are the largest demographic of posters here, so you should be well taken care of. :D

Thank you for the input. It seems to be a solid deal. I'm trying to see how much I can get them to budge. In the interim, I'm risking it getting away however too. I personally refuse to buy a car new unless I have to and that's what drew me to this car. It seems like a dealer unwind and I never mind that.

There's a solid aftermarket, but not a huge one. This is a very niche car. Click the banners at the top of the page for some of the top vendors. Most questions can be answered here, tons of info already in these forums, go through the sections. Forum search kinda sucks though.

Thank you Hockster!

My Stinger replaced a Toyota 86 for me too. No regrets. Heaps of power and luxury. More comfortable by far. I am like Merlin, not a modder. My 86 was stock standard and other than the bimodal exhaust, my Stinger is as well. Good luck with your purchase.
