Sad news. My neighbors' Tribute got backed into at a golf course by a pickup truck. Rear left passenger door is crushed in. Hopefully that's all. I could see no surrounding panel damage. He's thoroughly pissed off as anyone can appreciate. He's had the car just less than a year and this is the second time someone has dinged it. The first one was comparatively minor, and looks more like a swift-moving shopping cart tagged his rear bumper on the right end - gouged a quarter-sized piece up from the bumper and scratched the piano black below. Ironically, he had started to repair that one, then this happened. Crap.

^^^I was thinking that, the whole time he related his story, but this time I didn't say anything and just let him vent. Time was short.

^^Well, truth be told, that's where I've always parked for years and years now, regardless of the car. Even when I was driving the accord.

After decades I still can't pull into a spot properly, but can back in perfectly every time. Takes too much effort to back out of spot, watching for hazards and all. Parking way out in left field doesn't annoy anyone as I take my time doing so.

^^^Ever since I got a Stinger my parking habits have changed, in an instant, suddenly, I was all obsessed with avoiding door dings and shopping carts. To illustrate, when my friend parked in an end stall at church, I was following him and pulled in right next to his damaged Tribute. He left early and I moved my car to an end stall rather than stay with open stalls on either side of me. This is an obsession I can live with comfortably. And the extra walking is good for your health.
