Well it didn't take long. 2021 GT1. 1200 miles. Drove it yesterday and as I started out the transmission would not up-shift at all in Comfort mode automatic. Redline city until I grabbed the paddle and shifted it up. Odd. Slowed and put it Sport mode and was fine as well as ECO mode. Smart mode did the same thing holding 1st or second gear and refusing to upshift. I assume because it " thought" it was in Comfort mode at that time. Steam coming out of my ears as I got home. Love the car but thats a big issue if and when it happens again. Comfort and Smart mode only.

This morning took it out and it upshifts and downshifts in all modes. Googled this issue and got nothing so now two questions.

1) Anybody else have this and if so what was the resolution?
2) Should I take in? If they can't "duplicate" the issue its a waste of time.

I've been on this forum for 3 years and cant recall anyone else with this issue. Are you sure you just didnt have it in paddle shift manual mode and it was holding gears because of that? The car will hold gears and bounce off the limiter if you tap a paddle and get it into manual shift mode. Sounds like you just dont have a full understanding of how that system works so I'd look at that section in the manual as I'm sure that's probably what happened.

Easiest way to tell when you're in manual mode is that the cluster will indicate what gear you're in. If you dont see the gear indicated on the cluster you're in automatic mode.

That's not the issue. The car was in regular "drive comfort" mode. It would not shift up at all. I even stopped the car and turned off the ignition. At the time it changed nothing. Now it's working but will continue to be an unresolved issue

Very odd, do you have any mods or is the car entirely stock?

Ditto: that is a "unicorn" issue. How very weird and upsetting!? And you're right, it might not ever happen again. The only experience I have had with a "thing" that seemed to just happen (twice, only in three years) was the TPMS communication just went away: my tire psi readout on the dash was just dashed lines. When I shut down (gassing up), it went away and psi readout returned. Literally, a year and more separated the two times this has happened (so far :p). There is just so much electronic/computer crap on these new cars that I'm amazed, frankly, that they are as trouble-free as they are. Hah!

Welcome to the age of computerized automobiles. There's probably a million lines of code (or more) that are part of the symphony. Reboot/reset.

Got to love technology. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.

I find that for most of the automatic controls in the stinger. Never does exactly what I want. Give me a manual any day.

Only time it happened to me, I had "accidentally" hit the shifter and engine revved until I hit the upshift paddle(didn't occurr to me that i have moved the shift lever - I have the "T" shifter). Once I moved the shifter back to "D" auto, no further problems.....2+ years.
