So recently my auto stop / start was acting up.
Dealership says their diagnosis is that the oil pump for the tranny is having an internal problem, and it's related to auto stop feature not receiving whatever msg, or how it runs in conjunction with the pump to keep it kinda ready to restart fast and smoothly.
So they changed that today and apparently it's working normal again.

This started earlier in the week but just today, oddly as I was on my way to the dealership to get the newly arrived pump installed, my engined rev'd without moving too much and not slowly revving higher before upshifting. Tested in few modes and the same.
Dealer said mechanic said they couldn't replicate that after changing the pump, so since it was a pump related to the tranny oil, that may have been the connection and starting to not function well, but they couldn't say for sure, and to of course monitor and come back if I feel that again.

Oh, ps.. anyone's launch control, when set it up, feel a wee bit of slip, like the ebrake or whatever holds it in place skipped a wee wee bit ? It still holds for the launch, but just a tiny nudge.

Anyone else with this issue ??
My car has not even 40K kms on it yet, for reference.

The suspension loads up, if that's the nudge you're talking about. Happens in every auto trans car in existence when you hold the brake and rev the engine.
If the car is actually moving then you're not holding the brake hard enough.

The other issue is called a "flare", at least if it happens during a shift event. If it happens all the time or constantly in one or more gears then it's a slip.
The trans has a traditional pump in addition to the auxiliary electric pump, so seems odd for a flare while the engine is running. But, they may have designed it to rely on the electric pump all the time. Who knows.

well the tranny oil pump is changed and the slipping feeling is not happening now.
but the auto stop start light is still flashing sometimes, and it worked as it should a few times and it didn't a few times, so that didn't 100% fix that.

I'm wondering, if the tranny oil pump wasn't working properly for a week, and then just before being fixed, cause a bit of slipping, could there be any wear and tear, that I should make sure the Dealership Makes Serious Notes on file, so in the event I have tranny issues at 100,001 Kms, I have something to refer too, that this 1 week issue may have contributed to any tranny issues in the future, or to any parts related to this slip/oil pump issue ?

I can't add anything to your issues so good luck getting it squared away.

Maybe you can help me out with something though. What exactly was happening with your idle stop go? My wife's Santa Fe is a bit hit or miss with shutting off when stopping. My stinger is very predictable, but hers seems to only do it half the time or so. Otherwise it drives great so thinking it's just not as sensitive, not necessarily an issue, but who knows.

The current issue was that I'd come to a stop and the idle stop (as it should), but seconds later, I got a message on the screen saying the auto start/stop is failed and to restart the car.
So I'd put it in park and hit the engine start button and it would start again.
And, few times when I stopped, if I let off the brake before that message came on, it restarted, but more abruptly then before.

but before all this, it didn't work great. It was not consistent in when selecting to shut off or not. sometimes would wait 7 sec. at a stop light before it turned off, then light goes green 1 sec. later, and sometimes it ACTUALLY, shut off when I was at a 99.4% stop.. I hadn't even fully stopped yet.
So, just inconsistent to say the lease. I hate it and don't always remember to shut off before driving away.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
so, the tranny slip feeling/sound didn't happen again, but the auto stop start light flashes, as there's still an issue with the system, so now they say the believe it's the oil pump converter or some other word, for another mechanism that control the oil pump....
another few days for that part to come in. They had the car for a while to figure what could be the issue so far.

Oh, while in talks with service manager, he said some Stingers are having issues with rotors warping, and Kia Cda are being dicks to not want to cover them, because they believe it's from aggressive driving and not a defect.
Anyone had this issue with them yet or with your car ?
