Using a Sony A6000 and a 35mm prime while getting attacked by skeeters.

I need a lot more practice. I've never really tried night pics, other than shooting the moon. Out of 50+ pictures only 5 made the team.

Next time I'll have my wife come out and show me how it's done.

These are awesome! The side reflector covering is perfect!

Do you have a write up on how you did that?

Look pretty good to me!

Awesome photos! I would also like to know how you did the side reflector coverings! I have the same color and that looks really good covered up. Thanks!

Oh nice, if I may ask ball park, what that cost/how long it took?

And more to the subject, keep taking shots like this! I think they came out well.

I had it done with some other work at the same time but I think the break down for those was around $150.

I think the ratio is normal. In difficult situations many pics won’t fly. There are really nice. I love the first in the series.

Did u give the shop the Ceramic Silver paint code to match the paint?

No they were competent enough to find it. I did ensure they had good ratings/reviews beforehand though.

Thanks.

Most of them were taken on the passenger side with one of the parking lot's lights behind me. I didn't realize at the time the entire side of the car was covered in leaf shadows, which gave the illusion of someone shooting with a high ISO...they looked horribly noisy and all got deleted.

Crap happens. Glad you got some real nice shots out of the session.

Nice work! I was thinking about doing that when the temps cooled down but we got rain this weekend so that killed that idea. It looks good!

That looks really good, curious as to what your shutter speed was and what fs you used? also are you shooting in raw? Cause if not i would recommend doing that and then finalizing in post. Also a tripod and remote switch or timer are the best way to get night shots done.

I played around with the settings alot. I don't remember exactly how things were setup on those pics. I do know I kept the ISO under 160. I also used a 2 second timer so I wouldn't catch my shadow from using the remote in front of the camera (no rear sensor for the remote).

I had some pretty long exposures...some over 30 seconds. I felt pretty silly standing there waiting on the camera while a security guard circled the lot. He probably thought I was just lustfully staring staring at the car...and maybe I was. :coffee:

Is it legal to cover up side marker lights, which are required by law?

Dam, that thing looks straight up sick! Good stuff done inside n out ..... show under hood.
