Tire wear mich pilots

I put new rears on every 5 thousand or so miles because traction is so good up to that 5000 mark. Fronts I change at about 12000 miles. But I’m weird like that I love full traction at all times . Very heavy right foot

Wow. New rears every 5K miles would certainly add to the cost of ownership. But if that's what keeps you happy, more power to you.

I came on here to bitch about the tire wear on my car. I've had it for 2 years and have put on 50,000 km (31,000miles). This morning I discovered that the rears are already down to the wear bars. Now that wouldn't seem too bad for a performance tire like the Pilot Sport 4. But, when you consider that I run Nokian winter tires for at least half the year, that drops the tread life on the Michelins down to about 15,000 miles, which isn't very impressive; especially at a $400+ replacement cost. I, too, have a heavy right foot, but I don't get any tire spin with this car, so I really wouldn't have expected to need new tires so soon.

The fronts have a couple 32s of wear left on them at most, so I just pulled to trigger on a full set of Nitto Motivos for the car. They come with a 100,000 km tread wear warranty. Not that I expect to have them for that long, but at least I shouldn't be having to replace them every 2 years.

Ya when you mod this car with the extra power. It eats the rears. With 500 pounds of torque plus . Tires melt faster.

also I take the tires off when they know longer give me max grip . Witch means they are at about 5mm they come at 9.5 . I run the sport 4s much better tire Then the sport 4
