I currently have Michelin Pilot 255 40 ZR19 on the front...worn out.....was told the equivalent Continental would work as well.....anyone with experience in this,or suggestions???

My experience says that mixing tread patterns and tire types is not recommended for handling reasons. If you put A/S on you should front and rear, or summer front and rear. It's worse if you run winter with something else. Haven't read anyone on here doing that! But people do the dumbest things. As far as mixing brands of same type of tires, that happens quite a lot without issues. Most drivers don't push hard enough to notice any handling issues running different brands of say A/S front or rear. Just don't mix brands at the same end, don't for instance run a Conti with a Michelin on the front, make both one or the other.

Since you're running a 255 in the front you must also be running aftermarket rims to make them fit, and the tires must be fitting with no room to spare.

I would recommend going back to the same Pilot Sports because you know that they will fit. The issue is, for a given tire size, they are NOT the same dimensions from one manufacturer to another - I've learned that the hard way.

What offset are you running up front?

Are you running the stock rims in front with a 255 wide tire? That could explain why you get outside edge wear, the sidewall is flexing under cornering. The max width recommended on an 8" wide rim is 245. By the way, that looks like a typo, saying 255/40. The Michelin is 255/35. Or is the 255 the typo?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm currently running aftermarket wheels. My setup is:
Front: 20x9 +35 245/35/20
Rear: 20x10.5 +42 285/30/20

My PS4S's will need to be replaced soon. Was looking to get the Continental DWS06 Plus as I've read great things about them.
My question is would I be able to run 255/35/20 in front and 295/30/20 in the rear? The tire/wheel calculators I've checked show the tire would be 5mm closer to suspension and stick out 5mm, and the sidewall height would be about 3mm taller. Rather small changes with a bit more contact patch.
Any issues with a slightly wider tire? Am I missing anything?

The previous owner of my rims ran 255's up front.

BTW, you won't be able to find those tire sizes in all-weather tires.

If you are all wheel drive, the best you can do for all-weather tire sizes are in my sig.
