With the holiday Monday, I'll probably take a crack at installing my tips. For those that have done it any tips ( no pun intended). I'm assuming you support the exhaust, remove the screws for the for fake tips sliding it back, then removing the exhaust from the rubber support and allowing it to lower to remove the fakes.

When I did my tips I had to remove each muffler to get enough clearance to take off the OEM tips. You might be able to get away with doing it your way. Good luck!
