I’ve read that the factory pads aren't that good (upgrading to EBC red stuff pads) on the stinger but what about factory rotors?

I will upgrade to a better aftermarket rotors once changeout is necessary but currently my 22 stinger has around 24k miles on it bought it used at 16k miles - not sure what the previous owners driving style was but I live in nyc so there’s a LOT of stop and go at low speeds.

Think the factory rotors will be good for atleast another 5 to 10k miles? Mine is FBO with jb4 tune and only plan on driving in map1 and map 2. Not interested in maps above that.

How do you know which aftermarket rotors are better than stock?

I’ve read stop tech rotors are pretty good. And there are others like EBC rotors, dynamic friction etc unless what I’ve read wrong then I would like to know why

I am wondering myself. Being pretty good doesn't mean being better than stock. I went with two peice rotors for weight saving purpose only. But do they perform better than stock? I really don't know.

I was trying to research what the factory rotors are made of and if it’s coated or not but sadly couldn’t find anything.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
OEM brakes are Brembo, with two-piece rotors. They are good ones. Unless you go really high end, racing spec rotors of some kind or other, no aftermarket rotors are going to provide better performance or longer service.

Thank you for the response snickle! So the vibrations I feel from braking is that because of the pads only and not rotors right? I’ve heard a lot of people getting rid of the vibration from braking after they changed out the pads. I drove my friends BMW 840i (stock) and the braking power on that felt astronomically better than stinger GT (to the point where it started to get annoying lol) . Ofcourse I would expect it to be better but wasn’t expecting it to be that big of a difference.

Only so much brakes can do. For daily use your stopping power isn't limited to brakes, neither pads or rotors. They will hold wheels as long as abs system allows to. Brake becomes limit when you push your car so much, that brakes overheat. Multiple hard brakes on high speed, track driving, downhill driving. If you aren't doing any of this, it doesn't matter if you have BMW 840i or Toyota aygo, brakes aren't limiting you. They can feel different tho.

Thing is I rarely do any hard driving, I don’t race, or do track- I’ll occasional do a 30 roll ( by myself not racing with others) and will stop once I hit like 80mph on an empty high way with mild braking or when merging but that’s like couple times a week. I rarely do hard brakes unless car in front of me hard brakes.
