I would like to upgrade to a newer Stinger, but the one thing KIA has not done to encourage me to do this is the power train. If I am going to spend more of my money, I would like for KIA to offer the Stinger with the new 3.5 liter TT engine. I like my Stinger and am very happy with it. But if I am going for something newer, it has to have more HP. I could mod it, but I rather have the factory do it. So, until KIA offers the 3.5, I will just keep what I have.
Good luck with that. I doubt you'll see the 3.5TT in a Kia sedan any time soon since they're killing off the Stinger. If you want the 3.5 in a sedan I believe you have to go with the Genesis G80 but that's about $10k more.

I also wanted the 3.5 from the Genesis in the Stinger, but it only makes another 8 HP. It would also make it much heavier than the Stinger already is. I think the balance is pretty much spot on the way it is, though the Eibach sway bars perfect it a bit more, from what I've heard.

Not sure what year car you have but I'd ask why would you want to "upgrade" as you call it?
The 2022-23 looks basically exactly the same. In some ways, it's a downgrade imo. Ugly exhaust tips, ugly wheels (although they do look good powdercoated in gloss black) not as many features if you opt for a gt1 and the kicker is obviously it costs more. I can see if they drastically changed the styling for the better or added the bigger motor. The few improved electronics/safety features ain't enough to justify it imo and I own a 2020 base awd gt that didn't come with most of the extra goodies. But hey, it's your money, if that's what you wanna do, who am I to say no?
I was waiting for the 3.5 as well -- but decided it will never happen. It was not the 8 hp, but I read it has dual DI/port fuel injection and would help keep the back of the valves cleaner. That would be worth it for me.

I also read on this and was intrigued, but that engine is apparently Hyundai specific as the GV70 doesn't have a lesser Kia equivalent. The Lambda family from Kia has variant called the Lambda II RS MPi (G6DB) that had both port and direct injection, but it was not designed for a turbo application.
Genesis has slowly been moving away from the Lambda engines to the Smartstream. I don't think Kia is going to develop the MPi engine with a turbo at this point since they seem to really be pushing electric vehicles.
I have a Mishimoto catch can, but have yet to install it has I feel like I have bad luck and keep running into difficulty installing it on my own. First, the suspension nut for the top of the bracket wouldn't come off, so I had the dealer do it. Now the hoses have clamps in such bad angles that I cannot release them, so I might have to go back to the dealer to just install the entire system. A little frustrating. Thankfully, I "only" have just over 4,000 km since I took delivery on June 2 but I would like to get it put on soon since the mileage is reaching up quick. First oil change is scheduled for 6,000 kms.
