The Official 3.3TT Stinger Fuel Efficiency Discussion

I have a GT2 RWD. First 2500 miles I averaged about 21-22 in bumper to bumper traffic. After that, it can be between 22-24. I haven’t taken it on a traffic free drive recently. But I had some reduced traffic the other day and got 25 mpg. That is using the computer. I’ve only tested the computer calculation once, and it was just under 1 mpg more than my pump to pump calculation.

Guess I can use this to note the things I've found about driving the car. My car for reference is a base GT with RWD. In Eco Mode the car is averaging between 24-25 MPG in the city, however I believe the higher city MPG has more to do with the 45 mph speed limit on most of our surface streets. As the car (On the 19 inch rims and stock summer tires) shifts into 8th at 47mph, the computer calculation at this speed is about 38MPG. At 5mph intervals the car loses roughly 2MPG. So at 65mph highway cruising speeds I've gotten the car to do around 30MPG (I've seen it as high as 32 in some cases.)

Of course if you keep the car in sport mode it keeps the car a gear lower in most cases, I find that in sport mode my average MPG is around what the EPA estimated is. High teens for city and mid-upper 20s on the highway. In my experience using the onboard computer and doing the math between fill ups I'd say the computer is within margin most of the time, maybe half an MPG tops.

I'm averaging about 16mpg in sport mode, city and highway mix, rwd gt1 @2600mi currently.

Vaoh touched on this but just remember, if you're in sport mode, the transmission won't go into 8th gear (if I'm correct) so you'll burn more gas during highway cruising.

7.5km/l (17.6mpg) in average for a total of 8000km(~5000 miles).

So yeah....I've been in sport mode 95% of the time I've had the car the last 2500 miles. I'm getting a solid 18mpg being an idiot on the throttle ever since I get the car.
I am confident if I wasn't being so childish and in comfort mode I would easily get 20+ mpg.

Have not gotten down into the teens yet took a wild to find a comfortable mode to drive in ego doesn't get it ,comforts OK , I prefer Smart, it's kind of like comfort but when you stick your foot in it , it automatically goes to sport so you have the power when you need it. Averaging about 22 to 24 in that mode highway and city . Did not really Buy it for the fuel mileage but it would've been nice if they put a little bit bigger gas tank , so you can get over 400 miles per tank , which I'm pretty sure you can in Eco and under 80 . Have a got there yet still having fun.
