my wife and I were out in Dodge Durango RT AWD on rainy day. Came up to light at intersection which is start of highway. 3 lanes . I pulled up in number 2 lane. Number 3 lane is required to merge into number 2. Well this guy in sUV slides up next to me in lane number 3. The Dodge while having V8 isn’t quickest thing but when it’s wet the torque of V8 and traction of AWD make it very fast off the line in low traction sprints.

So I pushed sport button and waited for green light. I didn’t realize suv next to me was a Tesla. So dropped the hammer and got a jump on SUV. And then to my surprise that SUV slowly pulled past me. Now thing that surprised me was he didn’t blow my doors off. So he must have not anticipated a big dodge suv out dragging him off the line and was probably not in ludicrous mode. But man wish I had been in the Stinger . Pretty sure I would have had him as he was only about a car length a head after pulling hard through 1st and 2 second gear.

Be wise driving Cali ... survive to enjoy the next day.

Cool story! Too bad your selling the Stinger and you won't have fun with it no more.

I have both an X and a GT2... The X feels much faster, but not by much. All that instant torque etc etc.

No worries fairly low speed stuff no traffic, no side streets, on divided highway. Have survived almost a million miles over past 40 years on streets and race tracks. When conditions are right and no traffic on divided highway I do enjoy an occasional sprint to the speed limit.

Yeah but new Porsche will keep smile on my face! I always have something fun in the garage.

Look on the bright side, at least you're not an EV douchebag.

I'll admit that was some clunky grammar. It feels a lot faster even though it's not.

That's the full available torque from idle on the Model X that you're feeling, but yeah they share a fairly close 0-60 time.

Did you consider grabbing a used 911 Turbo or were you set on a new car?

How will you live with yourself knowing the Stinger has 7 more hp?
No the 911 Turbo is big heavy AWD car and used its still very expensive. Great drag racer though. Older more affordable 911 turbos really suffer from turbo lag which doesn’t work well for me.

I love the 991.2 Carrera T with its small fast spooling turbos. T feels naturally aspirated. They do some cool stuff with turbo tuning on the T as well.

Carrera T is lighter more playful drivers 911. And it makes 370 hp in US spec so while not power house it’s got some zip and 5 more HP than Stinger. Especially given it only weighs about 3100 lbs the way I ordered mine.

I optioned mine with rear seat delete, carbon fiber race bucket seats, ceramic brakes, lightweight glass, manual trans with LSD , rear wheel steer, and no sunroof. All business.

New 991.2 Carrera T is pretty cool car. For me it’s more comfortable than Stinger too. More headroom and seats fit me like a glove.

Compared to Stinger the Carrera T motor doesn’t have that wonderful low end Kia grunt but it pulls harder at top end with very progressive power curve. Sounds 911T makes are a lot nicer than Stinger too.

It’s all good. Loved the Stinger but will love the Porsche more.
