I run map 2 daily on Shell 91. Had a problem once but pretty sure I pick up a bad tank of gas.In an earlier thread, when you reviewed my log you said…” Looks to be as expected!”. I’m just wondering by that statement..can I comfortably run map2 with what you’re seeing in this log on a regular basis with the shell 91?
Make sure you monitor it I had my JB4 Sent to them since 3-12-20 to get it tested since it was giving me engine light and every week they give me a new story of why they still have not tested it. Second week I was asked hey I got your JB4 what you want me todo with it? That’s after having it for a week I would say pray it don’t get messed up.Outstanding! I appreciate you very much taking the time to stop in

I understand that we are all facing a non ideal situation. However, the product was sent back to you prior to the lockdown and even a week after receiving it I am being asked what should be done with the JB4when we have been in communication prior to me sending the product. I find that to truly give customer service a replacement sent because there isn’t anyone qualified to review it and we do not know realistically the duration of our crisis. So, I’m left without the product and no certainty of repair after I was told that this week that you would “see what we can figure out for you.”Already replied to you here: First jb4 log, can you review and advise
It was not only one code it’s two codes and it has to do with the JB4 because after I removed the JB4 the check engine no longer turns on. Don’t return a product that has not been verified or fixed. This isn’t a courtesy when the product has a 5 year warranty. I have paid for the fees to return the product to you for review and I bought a new pedal because I was told by you guys that that was the issue. I put a pedal and the issues remained until the JB4 was removed. Just because I am the first one to report an issue, why wait for multiple customers to report the issue before checking it; gives me the impression that prior to the crisis you may have not even considered looking into the problem. Let’s me more proactive and solution focused than trying to prove whether or not the customer is at fault. You purchased the JB4 Aug, 2018, so it's not exactly a new purchase not working sort of situation like you implied. If it was we'd just send along a new one. We tested yours and nothing was found wrong with it we agreed to test it on a vehicle for you just to be certain. And then the lock down happened and it's been sitting on a shelf since. I'll get with the warehouse and just have them send it back to you.

The codes indicate a gas pedal fault that is why I asked. Sure it's not loose?

I’m positive I even bought a new pedal from the dealership thinking it was that. It has bean a nightmare I just did not post anything nowhere. The crazy part it all went away with the last update and then today again. Also note it happens random check engine light turns on with front warning collision not working that’s when the pedal stops working and I I turn off the car and back sometimes it’s there some times it’s not. I even took it to a shop nobody knows.

Maybe a wire is loose on the harness going to the pedal?

We checked all the wiring and all looks normal plus it should not turn on the collision, air bag and even low oil code. It has to do with the JB4 for sure.

JB4 shouldn't turn on those things too, don't see how it would be JB4 related but easy to put the JB4 on map0 and evaluate, remove JB4 all together.

I’m running map 0 do to the problem. Took the car to two mechanics well known and they don’t know. I would hate to take it to the dealership and blame it on the JB4. What could I do to erase everything? Any test we could do?

Just pop off JB4 and send it in if you want us to test it out here on our car.
Regardless, this conversation did not have to go this route but I appreciate that you have come to your senses to provide quality service. As far as I can tell no one here told you to go buy a new gas pedal. I pointed out the fault description may be gas pedal related, and noted you have a 2019 support thread for help with a pedal tuner, so trying to put 2+2 together there. At the end of the day while we provide JB4 support we're not a mechanic replacement. The JB4 system itself is fine and as I said above will be sent back to you today with a new control board to be 100% sure.
I don’t have pedal tuner put it on and removed and yes I calibrated it. I hate the drama trust me but think about you not having the JB4 for 3-4 weeks. This all sounds like it's directly related to a bad install on a pedal tuner. Maybe damaged the harness during that install or a bad connection or something which in turn caused issues with the JB4. Hate to armchair this one but it is a public forum lol
I’m more involved in FB, local guys and no need to get support since I’m the first with this problem. Terry sending a new mother bored I hope that fixes everything. You will get better support if you post on the n54 website.
I disagree with the petal tuner. For me I like it because I didnt like the response of the by wire throttle. Works perfect and solved my throttle lag issue. Tuner set to sport works perfect in all modes. The best solution is to send Terry a PM here or by email or through the the forum that deals specifically with JB4. Pedal tuners are a big waste and don’t do a darn thing but give you a false sense of power (aka butt dyno). I love my JB4 because I’ve never used it in conjunction with anything else and went very slow with install. Also, I triple checked gap on plugs and I always use 93 octane on Map 2. Map 1 should always be 91 minimum and really, Map 2 is best with 93. Just because it works doesn’t mean it works efficiently. It straight up says on BMS website that Map 2 is 93 octane or higher.
I’m glad you like it, for real. They usually aren’t worth it. Once my engine is warm, I’m happy with the throttle response in sport mode running Map2I disagree with the petal tuner. For me I like it because I didnt like the response of the by wire throttle. Works perfect and solved my throttle lag issue. Tuner set to sport works perfect in all modes.
