Synthetic or conventional oil

Most turbo cars need synthetic don’t they? Due to high running temps.

FYI, there are a couple threads on this already. Just search.

In short, Kia requires a synthetic blend, but full synthetic is better and not much more expensive, so most of us are using full synthetic.

Any oil that meets or exceeds the manual requirements will maintain your warranty if you follow the proper change intervals.

I am asking because the stinger calls for 5w-20 ILSAC gf-4 or better. Gf-4 can be conventional and gf-5 is full synthetic. My past 2 Toyota's only used 0w-20 which is only synthetic

Where are you located?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
For instance, I am in El Paso where it never gets cold, is quite hot, dry and the elevation is between 3500 ft and 6500 feet. I run Mobile 1 Synthetic 20w50.

It doesn't matter if it's "conventional" or "synthetic" or a blend, as long as it meets the manufacturer spec of "API SM/ILSAC GF-4 or above"

There's nothing magical about synthetic oil, it just happens that many oils developed for high performance engines are synthetic. "causality vs causation".. it's a thing. Look it up.
