did anyone else see the video out of Los Angeles three people killed from street racing one looks like a Stinger

Yeah that was stinger. One of the news coverage shows it from the side where it had smashed into a parked car. Sounds like all three that were killed came from a VW.

I'm way past disgusted with all the street racing.

damn those things look to much like a stinger, the side view really has the same profile, especially when the front end is smashed.

Look for the side brake vent and the side reflector: these two features show up well even on out of focus photos.

I'm way past disgusted with all the street racing.

Not sure about SoCal anymore, but up here near Sacramento, there is Sacramento Raceway Park, and during the summer, every Wednesday evening they hold street legal fun drags on the 1/4 mi track from 5pm to 9pm. This is all timed and everything. Only $20 to race. For a Stinger though, since they are quicker than 13.99, you need a helmet.
I went last Wednesday and had a blast, there were about 50 cars total racing of all different types. Managed to get about 10 runs in.
Much better environment than street racing.

Irwindale speedway does it on Thursday nights down here, only it is an 1/8th mile track.
