Hi all I am the owner of a 2020 3.3 GT for the last few weeks I've been experiencing a strange buffeting sound I thought it was caused by the hatch misaligned but checking and adjusting its fine, the noise starts when car is cold and only happens when I get to 26 to 27mph (crazy I know) before and after speed nothing ! also noticed sound gets less as engine gets up to temp, tried posting a recording on here but it will not allow, i wondered if its the exhaust are there opening ports or valves that open or close, I am hoping someone on here knows the reason as this forum is massive compared to our UK one, if I can give you any more info please ask, many thanks and keep safe Steve

The MPH specific "buffeting noise" issue, rears its head again! Some drivers have complained of whistling noises coming off their side mirror(s); and "buffeting" too. But I don't recall anyone associating this with engine temperature. Hmm. I think it's a singular harmonic on YOUR vehicle. If it goes away above and below that speed, that is a very minor aggravation. But if I had noticed it, you can be sure I'd try and track the source down too. Good luck!

Ah, I see why this sounded familiar, recently; you asked about this, recently. Not able to "live with it" after all, it seems. Heh!:P

At first I thought I just could not hear it above 30mph maybe I can't I watched a video where a guy sorted a buffeting sound on a Tesla hatch and the noise he describes sounded identical ?

A dozen different things could account for a "buffeting" noise. Is it in the rear, left, right, all around you? Do you experience other audible phenomena in your life experience? Not, "you're hearing things" kind of metaphysical stuff: but real noises that don't bother others, only you? I suspect that a number of people are simply hypersensitive in the area of sound, our most subtle, subjective sense.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Buffeting seems to come from rear and I've recorded it but cannot download to this forum! and my wife also hears it and its quiet loud, but goes as soon as I go above 29mph,

The sound deadening is non existent from the rear. Could this be originating from beneath the car? Something not quite straight or tight, that gets airflow over it enough to set up a vibration; and then when you go faster it is pressed and stops moving. Get under the car and start tugging gently on panels to see if anything needs securing.

It's still possibly a variant of "the hatch rattle", i.e. caused by that complex hatch. A seal that is malformed or seated could set up a harmonic with airflow at fairly slow speed; specifically at a narrow "band" range of airflow; less than that, not enough airflow; more than that; overpowered by too much airlfow.
