Stinger trimming down line up .......................

Sounds like 2.0 owners will be getting a little more bang for their buck.

In Canada , they launched the 4 cyl version as a GT Line and they do look smart ...................but they still dont sell

Well, I mean absolutely no offense to any 4 cyl owners (queue offensive comment) but for me personally when I was looking into buying the Stinger I knew that if I picked that car I would have hated myself the first time I pulled up near a 6 cyl, so I waited until I could afford the 6. I imagine that a lot of people feel that way.

This is why I didn't give the Audi S3 a second look before buying the Stinger. I'd be disappointed every day that I didn't get the RS3.

Yes of course, @KiaofMuncie shared that news with us weeks ago: 2020 Info :p

Why do they think that a leather covered steering wheel is questionable? All trims have had that. And now the GT-Line will probably get the flat bottomed steering wheel too.
If I wanted a turbo 4-cyl, I would have gotten an Optima, Accord, STI, etc..
Oh come on, there's a lot more to the 2.0L Stinger than a four cylinder engine. RWD/AWD? Huge difference. The entire layout of the car compared to those cars you glibly toss in here is sports performance oriented. Literally, the only difference between a 2.0L and 3.3L is the engine; everything else is good to go. It is a Gran Turismo, just not quite as beefy off the line. When, if ever, is a normal driver going to compare the difference in top speed? Or even 0-60? (the 2.0L is still very good at that too)

The reason why I got the 3.3L is because I could imagine pulling up on a semi from behind on the highway, and having that slow idiot behind the semi pull out to crawl past, BEFORE I could get there and forestall his thoughtless maneuver. It still happens sometimes anyway in a 3.3L: but at least I know that I bought all the power and acceleration I could get, so, there is that satisfaction that I have done all I can do to gratify my lust to pass fast. I suspect that to most drivers that is far down the priority list, if it is on the list at all.

2.0L GT Line doesn’t sell well here either, I would guess over 95% of sales in OZ are the top spec 3.3LTT GT

Merlin, Merlin.. Lots of people on here have complained about the handling/suspension - even with the adaptive suspension.. Accord 2.0t probably has better handling for cruising, more room in the back, better dealers, etc.. AND a simple tune + flex fuel gets +50 hp, +100 tq.

WRX has AWD and TONS of tuning support. Golf R if you can go a bit smaller - but none have a V6 turbo.

If you want to go above 300 hp stock (i.e. V6 Turbo or V8) and AWD, there's really not much else out there below the BMW/Audi/MB $60K+ range, if you need 4 doors: Q50 (seats didn't fit me) and Stinger.. Believe me - I shopped for YEARS and test drove a TON of cars.. The Stinger wasn't my first choice, but I more or less ended up here because there wasn't much else left. Not that I'm complaining - I *LIKE* my Stinger. But if I was to spend $40K on a 4-banger? STI or Golf R or closeout S3, maybe.. No way do I buy a Stinger 2.0.

The 2.0L is not $40K, not even close, especially since a potential buyer can dicker down on that trim.

I haven't heard of inferior handling in the 2.0L compared to the GT trims. Where does that come from?

I think the 2.0T has a good balance with its setup but the engine should have had more power or a better torque rating. 285hp/300tq would be a decent range. When it gets the 2.5T, it will be in that range and should feel much better. Personally, I feel the shouldn’t have sold a 4cylinder version until that 2.5T was ready.
