Stinger Tax, Title, Registration Cost

I'm just curious what it cost other Stinger owners in tax, title, and registration in states other than Iowa. I just got back from the courthouse and it cost me $2914. That includes $518 for registration, which I get to pay annually for the next seven years before it starts to go down. This is part of the reason I kept my 2003 WRX for nearly 16 years before selling. I still have my 2004 GMC 2500--I guess I'll keep it forever for its $38 annual registration. In Iowa you don't own cars or houses, you just rent them from the state (small 's'). BTW I have a 2019 GT1 AWD.

Thought I got the higher registrations for this year. The 2 Stingers is $500+ each due next month in California.

Yeah, I definitely had sticker shock on mine! I kinda had an idea what it would be for sure, but man oh man I was like wholly crap!! Seems like you're almost getting 2 for 1 in Vegas money.

The state of Ohio charges $35 annually for a passenger car ($50 for a pick up truck), then it depends on the county to charge. The county I live in charges $20 per car registration annually, so I use an address in a different county which charges $0 for the registrations of my six cars, saving me $120 annually. Five of the cars have personalized license plates which are additional $50 per plate per year for a total of $250 annually.

In a nutshell, a regular plate registration costs $35 annually and a personalized plate registration costs $85 annually.

The annual cost of registration is the same for my '7 Toyota Matrix and for my '18 Stinger GT, $85 each.

The sales tax in most Ohio counties is 7.5% and both new cars and used cars taxed just the same. There is an exception on a new car purchase, but that's more than I care to type here.

Title cost is minimal. I can't remember the exact amount, but it's around $20 or so. Document fee is limited to $250 by the state of Ohio.

Dang. I'm currently stationed at Nellis AFB in Vegas and wondered if I should register it here or back in my home state of California. Decisions decisions...

I can't imagine CA being higher. I never realize how much we are getting shafted until I see other states costs. Maybe it's NV DMV's way of making up for us not having a state income tax.

Such an awful scenario for us. I'm still debating to register it here just so I get more lenient cops not bothering to pull me over for being from out of state. I've seen some states cost way lower to register the car, maybe even 1/4 of what Nevada would charge.

Always had cali plate cars. The stinger was my first nv car. I assumed the 800 something I paid for registration was only first year thing. Sounds like I'll be paying a lot every year :/.

Yeah, it makes it tough. They pull you over and then the questions begin.
