Hi, sorry if this has already been discussed, but I’m a little bemused as to why my Stinger’s sat nav doesn’t prompt for address information. It’s a pain! All of my previous cars have had this feature...why not a 2018 Stinger?
Thanks.

Because it's a crap system.

Would you mind putting your location in your profile so as others know where you are. Also, you might like to share details of your Stinger. Go to profile page and follow prompts.

Please add your location to your user profile. Thx.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Satnav is unique to say the least and does have some pitfalls , one being prediction of location query. There are a number of threads that go into a deeper discussion if you have a look. Welcome to the forum, we would love to know what your last car was and why you bought a Stinger.

Not sure what the OP means with regard to prompts. If he means prompts to say what address, city, etc., they're really not necessary, since the full address (number, street, and city) can be spoken in one "string". Therefore it's not necessary for the system to ask for "Number", then ask for Street", then ask for "City".

That's a huge step froward from older systems (from most mfr's) that left you tired after entering an address search. It's great to be able to simply say, "1234 Elm Street, Boise" and have the system find it.

I disagree the system is crap. I've had cars from Lexus, BMW, Acura, Infiniti and others, and this one stacks up well. It is a little slow to digest an address string, but it seems to understand me well, which is more than I can say from many others.

Agreed. My Stinger system beats my Lexus Nav in every way.

I press the voice button and clearly say "Find 12345 Main Street El Paso, and boom my route options appear. Its about as simple as it can be.

In AUS the standard system isn't voice activated.

Not sure what other markets include it, but in Canada as part of the UVO telematics package there is a destination search button on the rear view mirror that is linked to Google. Press it and it prompts you for a voice instruction on where you want to go, then looks up your destination and feeds it to the built-in Navigation system. Works really well, and makes the built in navigation much nicer to use.

I agree it is substandard to what I had previously in my Jeep. I have only tried to use it twice in the Stinger. Waze is my go-to Sat Nav app and it's great for the most part. I have Google Maps as a back up but rarely need to use it. The only thing is that I have to plug in the phone to access it through Android Auto, but that isn't a big issue. First world problems..... ;)
